TPO - Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry received reports about a number of individuals impersonating the school's lecturers, asking students to transfer money into their personal accounts, paying tuition fees to get them waived, and then blatantly taking the money.

On December 22, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry issued a notice warning all students to be alert to a new form of fraud.

Accordingly, the school received reports of some individuals impersonating school lecturers, asking students to transfer money into their personal accounts, and paying tuition fees in exchange for tuition exemptions.

The school recommends that parents and students be vigilant and absolutely do not transfer tuition fees to any personal bank account.

“The collection notices are only valid when posted on the school’s official website and fanpage. If there is an unusual situation, please immediately notify the head lecturer or the Student Affairs and Support Department. At the same time, organizations and individuals are advised to follow the school’s official information channels; research and verify information as accurately and completely as possible to avoid being taken advantage of by bad guys,” the school’s notice stated.

Previously, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry also issued a warning about the forgery of school documents after receiving feedback about information about invitations to meetings and exchanges with international students.

This school affirms that it did not issue the notice of the above-mentioned meeting program. Organizations and individuals have taken advantage of the school’s brand and image to conduct illegal activities without the school’s written consent…

In addition to Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, many other schools such as Saigon University, University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences (VNU-HCM), University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, etc. also regularly issue warning notices to students and parents to avoid fraud.
