The highest LNG electricity price is 3,327.42 VND/kWh

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long has just signed and issued Decision No. 1313 of the Minister of Industry and Trade approving the price framework for power generation of combined-cycle gas turbine plants using liquefied natural gas in 2025.

Accordingly, the maximum price (excluding value added tax) of the 2025 electricity generation price frame applicable to combined cycle gas turbine plants using liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2025 is VND 3,327.42/kWh.

The parameters used to calculate the maximum price of the LNG power generation price frame in 2025 include: calculated capacity of 1,551,490 kW; net heat consumption rate at 85% load is 6,330.17 BTU/kWh; imported LNG price is 14.05 USD/million BTU; transportation price (including transporting LNG to the port for regasification, storage, regasification, and distribution after regasification) is provisionally estimated at 2.589 USD/million BTU and foreign exchange rate is 25,670 VND/USD.

Based on the above electricity price framework, Vietnam Electricity Group and the power generation unit sign a power purchase contract on the basis of compliance with the regulations on the method of determining electricity generation service prices issued by the Minister of Industry and Trade.
