The 1-0 victory helped the Vietnamese team complete a double victory over Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Young player Nguyen Hieu Minh contributed greatly with a header that caused the opponent to score an own goal in the first half.

With this victory, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team continue to maintain a 3-point gap with Malaysia in Group F. In the training session next November, the Vietnamese team will face Laos, before heading towards the decisive match with Malaysia in March 2026.
