Thanh Hoa takes action to salvage dead pigs, warning of serious disease risk
According to the Agriculture & Environment newspaper, from June 21 to now, the Thanh Hoa Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine in coordination with local authorities has collected and destroyed 117 dead pigs in canals in the communes of Dinh Hung, Dong Quang, Thieu Trung, Sao Vang...
Mr. Dang Truong Giang, Head of the Department of Disease Management, said that after receiving instructions, the staff directly took samples at the scene to determine the cause of the pig's death. However, because the samples were badly decomposed, the pathogen could not be identified.
However, Mr. Giang warned that the risk of disease outbreaks is still very high if people continue to dump pig carcasses into canals. Currently, the Department is coordinating with local authorities to collect and destroy pig carcasses according to regulations to ensure disease prevention.
Mr. Khuong Ba Luan, General Director of Song Chu LLC, said that there is a situation where some people intentionally dump pig carcasses in deserted canals with few people passing by and do not report it to local authorities.
Although the cause of death has not been clearly determined, this situation raises great concerns about environmental hygiene and epidemiological safety. The act of dumping dead pigs into canals not only shows a lack of awareness but also pollutes the environment and poses a potential risk of spreading disease.
