In the Northern region, the price of live pigs today continued to move sideways compared to the previous session.

Specifically, live pigs in Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi and Tuyen Quang are currently purchased at VND69,000/kg. Meanwhile, localities including Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh recorded a price of VND68,000/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the North fluctuates around 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the Central Highlands - Central region slightly decreased in some places

In the Central Highlands region, pork prices in some localities were adjusted down by VND 1,000/kg, while prices in other places remained unchanged.

Specifically, the price of live pigs in Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Lam Dong and Binh Thuan all decreased by VND 1,000/kg, down to VND 68,000/kg, VND 67,000/kg, VND 71,000/kg and VND 71,000/kg, respectively.

Meanwhile, localities such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak and Ninh Thuan continued to maintain the same price as the previous day, fluctuating between 68,000 - 72,000 VND/kg.

According to the Agriculture and Environment newspaper, AI can analyze samples and health indicators of pigs to make more accurate predictions about the potential spread of disease.

Pig farming plays an important role in the agricultural economy of many countries, especially in Vietnam and China, where the demand for pork is high. However, one of the major challenges facing the pig farming industry is dangerous diseases, especially African swine fever (ASF), which has caused serious damage to the pig herd over the past many years.

In this context, the application of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) has opened a new direction to help the livestock industry overcome difficulties and develop more sustainably.

At the Forum "Innovation of the Chinese-Vietnamese Pig Industry", Dr. Nguyen Xuan Duong said that both Vietnam and China are working hard to find optimal solutions for the livestock industry. He emphasized that China has restored its pig herd thanks to advanced technology, while Vietnam is also promoting management improvements and the application of digital technology, especially artificial intelligence, to predict and control diseases.

According to Dr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, using AI technology to predict the health status of pigs can help farmers detect early symptoms of disease, thereby intervening promptly to minimize damage.

AI systems are able to analyze data from sensors and images, helping to monitor pig health in real time and detect abnormalities even before disease symptoms are apparent. This is especially important for African swine fever, where the virus can spread rapidly without obvious symptoms.
