* The Brazilian Meat Protein Association (ABPA) forecasts that in the remainder of 2023, Brazil's production and exports of poultry, pork, and eggs will increase.
Regarding pork, ABPA believes that total output will exceed 5 million tons, reaching 5.05 million tons, an increase of 1.5% compared to 2022.
Product supply for the domestic market will remain stable at the 2022 level, with a total of 3.85 million tons; per capita consumption will also be equivalent to 2022 at 18 kg.
Brazil’s pork exports are forecast to reach 1.25 million tonnes in 2023, up 12% from last year’s 1.12 million tonnes. The expansion of several markets, combined with sustained demand from key Brazilian markets, underpins the outlook for export growth.
