Pig price on October 17, 2024: Decreased by 1,000-2,000 VND/kg nationwide

DNVN - On October 17, 2024, the price of live pigs continued to decrease nationwide, currently fluctuating between 62,000 and 65,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the North

In this morning's trading session, the price of live pigs in the North decreased from 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg in most provinces and cities. The current purchase price fluctuates from 64,000 to 65,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, in Hanoi, Hung Yen and Hai Duong , the price of live pigs decreased by VND 2,000/kg, staying at VND 64,000/kg.

Besides, provinces such as Bac Giang , Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Binh and Tuyen Quang also recorded a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, the current purchase price is at 64,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands

In the Central and Central Highlands regions, live pig prices also decreased slightly, fluctuating between 63,000 and 64,000 VND/kg.

In Ha Tinh and Ninh Thuan , the price decreased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, currently purchasing live pigs at 63,000 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak alone, the price of live pigs decreased by 2,000 VND/kg, down to 62,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the South

In the Southern market, the price of live pigs decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, trading in the range of 62,000 to 65,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh are purchasing live pigs at VND62,000/kg and VND63,000/kg, respectively, after a decrease of VND1,000/kg.

The remaining provinces and cities in the region did not record any price fluctuations.

The price of live pigs nationwide has decreased by 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg in many provinces and cities, bringing the average price nationwide down to 64,200 VND/kg. Currently, the price of live pigs in Vietnam is about 1,000 VND/kg higher than the Chinese market. Domestic pig farmers continue to restock, leading to the price of piglets remaining high. Specifically, the price of piglets in the North is 1.89 million VND/pig, in the Central region is 1.65 million VND/pig, and in the South is 1.69 million VND/pig.
