Leaders from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Justice held a working session with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law regarding the proposal to establish a Central Vietnam branch of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law based on the merger of the Central Vietnam College of Law.
Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, affirmed that the merger of the Central Vietnam College of Law into a branch of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law is a step in line with the general policy of the Party and the State on streamlining organizations and improving the efficiency of higher education institutions, while also contributing to the organizational improvement of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
Dr. Le Truong Son, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said this is a major initiative with significant strategic importance for the development of both universities, expanding learning opportunities for students in the Central and Central Highlands regions. Once operational, this branch campus will be a unit of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
The branch campus aims to become a reputable training institution in the region with a clearly defined training system, meeting quality standards in teaching and research. The branch campus will focus on training in law at various levels and other fields within the scope of the university's existing training programs, while also promoting collaborative training and organizing legal training courses for local officials.
After the project is approved, the branch campus will begin enrolling students for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, starting in the fourth quarter of 2025.

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law will recruit students through 5 methods. The law program will have the highest enrollment quota with 1,800 places.
"The school is committed to proactively developing a systematic plan for receiving, transferring, and developing the branch campus, in line with the school's strategic development orientation until 2030, with a vision to 2045; while ensuring psychological stability for staff, lecturers, and students during the transition process, as well as maintaining and improving the quality of training in the locality," Dr. Son affirmed.
