DNVN - On November 3, 2024, the price of live pigs in the North showed signs of recovery with the mark of 64,000 VND/kg reappearing.

Pig price on November 1, 2024: The North is the highest in the country

The price of live pigs in the North has been adjusted down in some localities at the beginning of the week. Since November 1, the price has shown signs of a slight increase, currently fluctuating between 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Notably, the price of 64,000 VND/kg was recorded in Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Thai Binh provinces, this is the highest purchasing threshold nationwide.

Last week, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands remained stable and maintained in the range of 58,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.

Currently, this area has the lowest pork price in the country, with 4 provinces having prices below 60,000 VND/kg, including Quang Nam , Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak.

The live hog market in the South continued its downward trend last week, with prices dropping by VND1,000 - 2,000/kg in the provinces of Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.

The price of live pigs in the South is currently between 59,000 - 62,000 VND/kg. The lowest price of 59,000 VND/kg was recorded in Ben Tre. At the same time, localities such as Dong Thap, Can Tho and Soc Trang recorded a price of 62,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.

Overall, the domestic live hog market continues to fluctuate, with prices ranging from VND58,000 to VND64,000 per kilogram. Experts predict that prices will fluctuate slightly in the coming time, depending on demand and factors such as disease.

According to Binh Phuoc Newspaper, on November 1, a working delegation from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Phuoc province had a working session with the People's Committee of Loc Ninh district to discuss measures to prevent and control epidemics and stop illegal pig trading across the border.

Loc Ninh district currently manages a total herd of nearly 928,000 pigs, with 118 large-scale farms and many small-scale farms. Vaccination, sanitation and disinfection work at farms are being carried out.

Leaders of Binh Phuoc province have directed Loc Ninh district to strengthen animal quarantine and veterinary supervision at markets, and strictly handle illegal trading and transportation of pigs.
