DNVN - On November 8, 2024, the price of live pigs continued to remain stable in the three regions. Survey results showed that the price of live pigs nationwide fluctuated from 58,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
Pig price situation in the North
This morning, the price of live pigs in the North remained unchanged, fluctuating from 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
Many provinces and cities in this region are currently selling live pigs at the highest price in the country, reaching 64,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the lowest price of 62,000 VND/kg is purchased by traders in Ninh Binh and Lao Cai .
Pig price in Central Highlands
The Central and Central Highlands regions continue to record stable live pig prices in the range of 58,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.
In provinces such as Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Quang Nam and Binh Dinh, the purchase price is below 60,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the country. The remaining provinces and cities maintain the price in the range of 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.
Southern pig price
In the South, after a few days of slight fluctuations, pig prices have now stabilized following the general trend.
Specifically, Dong Thap and Can Tho City are two localities with live pig prices reaching 62,000 VND/kg, while other provinces in the region maintain prices in the range of 60,000 - 61,000 VND/kg, without a large difference.
Experts' comments
According to experts, the live pig market is likely to continue to maintain stability in the short term in some localities as prices gradually balance with consumption demand.
It is expected that by the end of the year, the price of live pigs may increase slightly due to the demand during the Lunar New Year. Experts predict that if there are no unusual diseases, the price of live pigs may remain at 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg by the end of December, especially in areas with high demand.
In addition, prices will also depend on the cost of raising livestock. If feed prices do not decrease, farmers may have to adjust their selling prices to ensure profits. However, in the long term, if the epidemic is controlled and the supply is stable, the price of live pigs will not fluctuate much, helping to protect the interests of consumers.
