As the first generation of ethnic minority cadres since the establishment of Dak La commune (Dak Ha district, Kon Tum province), after retirement, Mr. A Nhen, born in 1956, Ba Na ethnic group (Ro Ngao branch), was elected by the people as village elder, a prestigious person of the village. Over the years, village elder A Nhen has become a positive factor helping the local government effectively implement socio -economic development goals, ensure national defense and security, especially actively participating in the Campaign "Changing the thinking and working style of ethnic minorities, helping ethnic minorities rise up and escape poverty sustainably".

Although he is approaching 70 years old, village elder A Nhen in Dak Tieng K'Lah village, Dak La commune is still very agile and resourceful. Every day, in addition to his main job of taking care of coffee and rubber trees, he often takes advantage of his time to improve the land along the stream to plant elephant grass and raise dozens of cows. In addition, thanks to the State's preferential policies for prestigious people, he has the opportunity to receive training and gain knowledge to invest in buying machinery for agricultural production to become rich.

Village elder A Nhen said that thanks to the loan from the district Social Policy Bank, he was able to buy cows and take care of the herd, which is growing more and more. At the same time, thanks to the State's investment in ethnic minorities to change the structure of crops and livestock, his family life as well as his village have had positive changes. Not only enriching himself and his family, with his prestige, village elder A Nhen is always a pioneer in propagating and mobilizing the people in the village. Listening to and following village elder A Nhen, many ethnic minority households in the village have proactively strived to develop the economy, supported each other to build models of cultivation and livestock to improve their lives and joined hands to build new rural areas in ethnic minority areas. Mr. A Duy, Dak Tieng K'Lah village shared: Thanks to village elder A Nhen's exemplary role in economic development from coffee, rubber, and livestock, everyone in the village saw and followed suit, and as a result, their lives have been increasingly improved. When elder A Nhen propagated, everyone in the village accepted and followed.

Vice Chairman of Dak La Commune People's Committee Tran Van Tam said that in recent times, village elder A Nhen has promoted well the role and responsibility of a village elder, a prestigious person in propaganda work, mobilizing relatives and villagers to develop family economy as well as instructing people on how to do business such as farming and raising livestock, contributing to eliminating poor households, and developing household economy in the village positively.

Village elder A Nhen said that in order to gain people's trust and love, he and his family always set an example, saying what they do. However, to do and develop, the State's policies for ethnic minorities are indispensable. From there, he further promoted his responsibility in propaganda and mobilization work, helping local Party committees and authorities to concretize the State's support policies into practice. "In conjunction with the new rural construction program, the State still has preferential and preferential policies for our ethnic minorities. Thanks to the State's support capital and the people's enthusiasm for doing business, people's lives have changed a lot, especially in economic development and restructuring of crops and livestock," village elder A Nhen emphasized.

Dak Tieng K'Lah village currently has a total of 234 households with more than 1,300 people; of which 99% are Ba Na ethnic minorities of the Ro Ngao branch, Catholics. From a particularly difficult village, the poverty rate in the village has now dropped to below 8%, the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved, and security, order and social safety have always been maintained. To achieve this result, in addition to the attention of local authorities, there is a significant contribution from village elder A Nhen ■
