Rice prices increased across the board

Rice prices today, April 21, in the Mekong Delta region have not fluctuated compared to yesterday.

Specifically, according to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang, Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates around 8,000 - 8,200 VND/kg, fresh Long An sticky rice is 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; IR 504 is at 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg; Japanese rice is stable at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, the price of OM 380 rice fluctuates around 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice remains at 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is at 8,000 - 8,200 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 fluctuates around 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg.

Last week, the price of fragrant rice varieties such as Dai Thom 8 and OM 18 increased by VND200/kg, while the remaining rice varieties remained stable. In some localities, traders began to order small quantities of young Summer-Autumn rice, and rice prices remained high.

Rice prices remain stable today

In the rice market, prices remained stable after yesterday's increase. Currently, the price of IR 504 raw rice fluctuates around 11,600 - 11,700 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 13,900 - 14,000 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the price of by-products continues to remain stable. Accordingly, the price of IR 504 panels remains stable at 11,200 - 11,300 VND/kg; dry bran fluctuates around 5,300 - 5,400 VND/kg.

Last week, the price of rice of all kinds increased by 300 - 500 VND/kg. The rice market was stable.

At retail markets in An Giang, rice prices remained stable today. Currently, the price of regular rice fluctuates around 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 17,500 - 19,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice 26,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice 19,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Huong jasmine rice 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg.

Common white rice is 18,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is 19,500 VND/kg; Soc regular rice is 18,000-19,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 18,500 VND/kg; Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable today after an upward adjustment. According to the Vietnam Food Association, 5% broken rice is currently at 582 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 557 USD/ton; 100% broken rice remains stable at 480 USD/ton.

Last week, rice export prices rebounded with an increase of 4-8 USD/ton. Although the increase was not high, this is a signal that the rice market has better prospects. The increase in Vietnamese rice prices is attributed to supply factors. Accordingly, Vietnam is now at the end of the winter-spring rice harvest, the supply of good rice is still limited, and domestic prices remain high.
