Domestic raw rice prices increase
In the Mekong Delta region, raw rice prices continued to increase slightly. OM 380 rice increased by VND200/kg to VND7,950-8,050/kg; IR 504 increased by VND50 to VND8,150-8,250/kg. Other rice varieties such as CL 555, OM 18, OM 5451 remained stable within the range of VND8,550-9,700/kg.
Domestic rice market transactions are slow, the volume of goods is not much, prices in localities such as An Giang, Sa Dec, Lap Vo and Tien Giang are generally stable, with little fluctuation.
Stable retail rice, by-products decrease slightly
At traditional markets, retail rice prices remained stable. Nang Nhen rice was listed at the highest price of VND28,000/kg, while fragrant rice ranged from VND20,000–22,000/kg. Regular rice remained at VND13,000–14,000/kg.
In the by-product group, the price of IR504 fragrant rice husk decreased by VND150 to VND7,250-7,350/kg. The price of bran and rice husk remained stable at VND7,250-9,000/kg and VND1,000-1,150/kg.
Stable rice prices, prosperous transactions
Rice prices in provinces such as An Giang, Hau Giang, Dong Thap and Soc Trang did not fluctuate much. Purchase transactions began to become more active. OM 5451, OM 18, Dai Thom 8, IR 50404 rice was still purchased at around 5,700-6,200 VND/kg.
Rice exports increased slightly
In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices continued to increase slightly. 5% broken rice reached 380 USD/ton, up 3 USD; 100% broken rice increased 2 USD to 319 USD/ton. Compared to Thailand and India, Vietnamese rice prices were 5 USD/ton higher but still 7 USD/ton lower than Pakistan.
Pakistan's rice export industry is facing a sharp decline in revenue despite stable production due to a sharp decline in international prices.
