On the morning of September 10, the Standing Committee of the People's Council of Hung Thang commune organized a monitoring of natural disaster prevention, search and rescue work in 2025 in the area to improve command capacity, awareness, and disaster response skills for the community.

Hung Thang commune has an area of ​​43 ^km2 , bordering the river and the sea, with 13.3 km of dikes, of which the river mouth dike is 1.4 km and the sea dike is 11.9 km.

In addition, the commune has 7 culverts under the dike, of which Thanh Tre 1 culvert is unsafe and 2 culverts are critical (Ba Gian and Thanh Tre 2 culverts). The aquaculture area is up to 1,114.6 hectares with 320 farming households. The whole commune has 77 means of fishing inshore and at sea.

In Hung Thang commune, there is 1 unsafe culvert and 2 weak culverts.

Since the implementation of the two-level local government, with the strong direction of the Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee, the work of natural disaster prevention, search and rescue has been deployed promptly, smoothly, and in accordance with the "4 on-site" motto. The preparation of materials and human resources in the commune has been strengthened.

In the first 8 months of 2025, Hung Thang commune completed 100% of the plan to collect the Natural Disaster Prevention Fund with an amount of 80.2 million VND.

Adequate preparation of materials and means is a decisive factor in disaster prevention work.

During the recent storm No. 3, with the spirit of proactive prevention, Hung Thang commune had no damage to people or property.

In the context of complex and unpredictable natural disasters and the two-level local government apparatus just operating, the Standing Committee of the People's Council of Hung Thang commune requested the People's Committee of the commune to direct specialized departments and villages to strengthen the preparation of human resources, materials and means; organize drills to improve the capacity and skills of forces and people, ensuring immediate handling from the first hour when a situation arises.
