On the morning of October 26th, TIL Hai Phong Port International Company Limited – HTIT (a subsidiary of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company) welcomed the COSCO ASIA vessel. This is the first vessel on the WAS3 shipping route, operated by COSCO SHIPPING Lines, connecting Hai Phong with several ports in South America.

The WA3 service route includes: Hong Kong – Nansha – Xiamen – Qingdao – Ningbo – Shanghai – Manzanillo – Chancay - San Antonio - Hai Phong.
The WAS3 service route not only facilitates the transportation of goods from Hai Phong, Vietnam to several seaports in South America, but also creates numerous investment and business cooperation opportunities. These new markets will contribute to enhancing HTIT Port's position on the world maritime map.

It is understood that, with the comprehensive cooperation policy between COSCO shipping company, Vietnam Maritime Corporation ( VIMC ), and Hai Phong Port, COSCO will operate intra-Asia service routes at Tan Vu Port branch and long-distance service routes at HTIT Port.
HTIT Port is berth number 3 and 4 in the Lach Huyen port area, with a berth length of 750m and a depth of 16m, capable of receiving 165,000 DWT (14,000 TEU) vessels and 200,000 DWT vessels with reduced load, along with a 250m barge berth to receive 3,000 DWT (160 TEU) vessels and an advanced handling equipment system, with a total investment of nearly 7,000 billion VND.
This port operates according to the green port - smart port model, applying modern technology and automation.
On September 23rd, HTIT International Port successfully welcomed the MSC KALINA container ship of MSC Shipping, measuring over 366 meters in length. This is the largest container ship ever to dock at Lach Huyen port.
