On the morning of October 26, TIL Hai Phong Port International Port Company Limited – HTIT (under Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company) welcomed the ship COSCO ASIA. This is the first ship of the WAS3 maritime service route, operated by COSCO SHIPPING Lines, connecting Hai Phong with several ports in South America.

Service route WA3 has the following itinerary: Hong Kong– Nansha – Xiamen – Qingdao – Ningbo – Shanghai – Manzanillo – Chancay - San Antonio - Hai Phong.
The WAS3 service route not only brings convenience in transporting goods from Hai Phong - Vietnam to some seaports in South America, but also creates many investment and business cooperation opportunities. New markets will contribute to enhancing the position of HTIT Port on the world maritime map.

It is known that with the comprehensive cooperation policy between COSCO shipping line, Vietnam National Shipping Lines ( VIMC ) and Hai Phong Port, COSCO shipping line will operate intra-Asia service routes at Tan Vu Port branch and long-distance service routes at HTIT Port.
HTIT Port is berth No. 3 and No. 4 of Lach Huyen port area, with a wharf length of 750m, depth of 16m, capable of receiving 165,000 DWT (14,000 Teus) ships and 200,000 DWT offload ships, along with a 250m barge berth to receive 3,000 DWT (160 Teus) ships and an advanced loading and unloading equipment system with a total investment of nearly 7,000 billion VND.
This is a port operated according to the green port model - smart port, applying modern technology and automation.
On September 23, HTIT International Port successfully welcomed the MSC KALINA container ship of MSC shipping line with a length of over 366 m. This is the largest container ship ever to dock at Lach Huyen port.
