Domestic pepper prices have exceeded 150,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices in key growing regions across the country, recorded on the morning of December 13, 2025, continued to increase by 500-1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day. Current purchase prices range from 149,000 to 150,500 VND/kg, with some localities officially exceeding 150,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, the prices in different localities are as follows:

  • In Dak Lak and Dak Nong : Pepper prices increased by 500 VND/kg, reaching the highest level nationwide at 150,500 VND/kg.
  • In Gia Lai : The sharpest increase was recorded at 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the purchase price to 149,000 VND/kg.
  • In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc : Pepper prices increased by 500 VND/kg, trading around 149,000 VND/kg.

According to businesses, this price increase is mainly due to limited market supply. Farmers and traders are holding onto their stock, waiting for better prices. This year's pepper production is not expected to increase significantly, while export demand remains stable at the end of the year, providing support for domestic prices.

Today's pepper prices (December 13th) continue their upward trend, surpassing the 150,000 VND/kg mark in the domestic market.
Domestic pepper prices continue their upward trend amid limited supply.

Global markets are experiencing mixed trends.

On the world market, data from the International Pepper Association (IPC) shows that pepper prices in major producing countries are fluctuating inconsistently. The global market is perceived to be relatively quiet, with supply and demand relatively balanced.

Prices of some types of pepper on the international market:

  • Indonesia: Lampung black pepper prices increased by $7/ton, reaching $6,996/ton. Muntok white pepper prices also saw a slight increase of $9/ton, reaching $9,645/ton.
  • Brazil: ASTA 570 black pepper is being offered at $6,075 per ton.
  • Malaysia: Kuching black pepper prices remain at US$9,000 per ton.
  • Vietnam (export prices): Black pepper (500 g/l and 550 g/l grades) remained stable at US$6,500 – US$6,700/ton. White pepper maintained around US$9,250/ton.

IPC assesses that the medium-term outlook for Vietnamese pepper remains positive thanks to stable demand from major markets such as the US and Europe, along with advantages in quality and increasingly improved deep processing capabilities.
