Creating momentum for more lending programs.
In 2023, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong from Thuan An commune borrowed 70 million VND from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP). Of this amount, 50 million VND was borrowed under the program for households engaged in production and business in disadvantaged areas. The remaining amount was borrowed under the rural clean water and sanitation program.
According to Ms. Huong, she invested this capital in caring for her coffee plantation intercropped with fruit trees. The remaining amount was used by the family to renovate the machinery and sinks, ensuring cleanliness for the whole family.
Our family owns over 1 hectare of farmland. Previously, due to a lack of investment capital, the orchard's productivity was low. Since receiving proper investment, the orchard has thrived, and productivity has improved. After each harvest, my family saves up some money to reinvest.

At the end of September, the family of Ms. Le Thi Cam Tu, from Da Huoai commune, received a loan of 50 million VND from the rural clean water and sanitation program implemented by the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP). With the loan, she invested in building facilities such as a water storage tank, toilet, and bathroom.
According to Ms. Tú, her family consists of five members. Besides her and her husband, there is also her elderly mother and two young children. Previously, due to difficult circumstances, her family had to use a dilapidated water tank and toilet. Every rainy season, the structure would break down, becoming slippery and inconvenient for family members.
Recently, through the village's savings and loan group's outreach, Ms. Tú learned about this loan program. With the support of the District Social Policy Bank, Ms. Tú's family invested in building a water storage tank and a clean toilet.
“The preferential interest rates and quick loan procedures make it suitable for our family's economic situation. Since the new clean water and sanitation facilities were installed, our family's daily life has become much more convenient. My husband and I feel more at ease knowing that our elderly mother and children have a clean place to live,” Ms. Tú shared.

Preferential loans from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies have contributed to many positive changes in people's lives. From investment in production and job creation to rural environmental sanitation...
All the criteria for building new rural areas have benefited significantly from preferential loan capital. People in Lam Dong have chosen suitable loans through various programs, gradually improving their lives.
Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, Vu Anh Duc
According to Mr. Duc, preferential capital is focused on loan programs such as those for poor households, environmental sanitation, and clean water, to ensure the criteria for building new rural areas are met.

Annually, after allocating funds, the Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies strengthens coordination with local authorities, organizations, and associations to regularly inspect and monitor the use of loan capital by the people.
Many localities have organized activities to improve farming and livestock models for people to apply. As a result, capital has gradually become very effective, contributing to "boosting" the construction of new rural areas in the localities.
