A unique experience at a world wonder.
The Great Wall of China is not only a magnificent architectural marvel but also offers unexpected experiences. At the Mutianyu Great Wall section in Beijing, visitors can choose an exciting way to descend the mountain instead of taking the cable car: a toboggan ride. This is a unique activity that appeals to those who love novelty and want to admire the natural scenery from a different perspective.

According to Ms. Vu Minh Diep, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, this experience left a strong impression on her 9-day trip exploring Beijing, especially in autumn when the forests turn vibrant yellow and red.
A 1.5km winding journey through the autumn forest.
The toboggan ride at Mutianyu has a total length of over 1.5km, designed to wind along the mountainside, starting from watchtower number 6 and ending near the exit. Visitors will sit on single or double sleds, controlling their speed themselves with a simple lever: push forward to accelerate and pull backward to brake.

"In autumn, sliding down the toboggan while admiring the mountain scenery filled with golden and red leaves is incredibly exhilarating, like flying. Even though it's cold and my hands are numb, I absolutely love it because I get to admire the picturesque scenery," Ms. Diep shared.
With a maximum speed limited to around 30 km/h, the descent takes only 5 to 10 minutes, depending on individual driving skills. This is a safe experience, suitable for most tourists, including those with no prior experience.
