Domestic rice prices remain stable
In the Mekong Delta region, rice prices today generally remained unchanged compared to the previous day. Fresh rice IR 50404 was purchased at around 5,700 - 5,800 VND/kg, while Dai Thom 8, OM 18 and Nang Hoa varieties ranged from 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg. OM 5451 and OM 308 rice were stable at around 5,900 VND/kg.

Some localities such as An Giang, Ca Mau and Soc Trang have seen sporadic transactions but rice prices remain stable. In Tay Ninh, transactions are better but prices have not fluctuated significantly.

Raw rice prices increased slightly
Prices of some raw rice varieties have increased slightly by 50-100 VND/kg. OM 380 rice is currently purchased at 8,100-8,200 VND/kg, IR 504 at 8,400-8,500 VND/kg. Finished rice also maintains a stable trend, commonly from 8,800-9,700 VND/kg depending on the type.

At warehouses in An Giang , Dong Thap and Sa Dec, the quantity of goods arriving is low, purchasing power is slow. Rice prices at retail markets remain the same as yesterday, in which Nang Nhen rice continues to be the highest at 28,000 VND/kg.
By-products stable, plate increased slightly
By-product prices today have not changed much. Fragrant rice bran IR5451 increased slightly by 150 VND/kg, fluctuating at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg. Bran remained at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg, while rice husk prices remained stable at 1,000 - 1,150 VND/kg.

Export rice prices fall
In the international market, Vietnamese rice prices have decreased across the board. According to VFA, 5% broken rice is now at $378 per ton, down $3 per ton from mid-week. 25% broken rice remains at $357 per ton and 100% broken rice is at $319 per ton.
The global rice export market is experiencing many fluctuations as Thailand is facing difficulties due to the loss of two major markets, Indonesia and the US. This could open up opportunities for Vietnamese rice in the near future.
