Rice exports increased sharply in the session of September 21
The export market is recording a significant breakthrough as rice prices have increased by 5 to 15 USD/ton. This is a clear increase compared to the beginning of the week, showing that demand from import markets is showing signs of recovery.
Last week, domestic rice prices also increased by 100 to 150 VND/kg for some varieties, creating positive sentiment for both farmers and businesses.
Rice prices in the Mekong Delta
In the Mekong Delta region, rice prices remain stable . Some types of raw rice exported in An Giang fluctuate around 8,100 - 8,600 VND/kg, while finished rice remains at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. By-products such as broken rice and bran continue to remain around 7,300 - 9,000 VND/kg.
Trading activities in localities are quite quiet, with few goods arriving. In Sa Dec ( Dong Thap ) and Lap Vo, the rice supply is not much but the price remains stable. In An Cu, the amount of goods arriving is slow, warehouses buy in small amounts, causing the price to fluctuate little.
Fresh rice prices remain stable
Regarding rice, prices in An Giang range from 5,000 to 6,200 VND/kg depending on the variety, of which Dai Thom 8 and OM 5451 rice remain higher than last week. The remaining Summer-Autumn rice supply is low, traders are buying slowly, but prices remain stable.
In Dong Thap, new transactions were quite quiet, while in Can Tho and Vinh Long, traders began to shift to buying Autumn-Winter rice. Ca Mau and Tay Ninh also recorded a quiet market, with basic prices stable.
Vietnam's rice exports flourish
According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), Vietnam’s rice export prices are clearly increasing. 5% broken fragrant rice increased by 15 USD/ton to 440-465 USD/ton, while Jasmine rice increased slightly by 3 USD/ton. This is a positive signal, contributing to strengthening the position of Vietnamese rice in the international market.
With this growth momentum, many experts predict that rice prices will remain stable domestically, while continuing to benefit from increasing import demand from major markets.
