Rice price today November 7: Fresh rice price decreased, rice market is stable

The agricultural market on November 7 recorded mixed adjustments when fresh rice prices in the Mekong Delta region decreased slightly, while prices of rice of all kinds in the domestic and export markets remained stable. Transactions in the market were generally slow, purchasing power was still weak.

Domestic rice price developments

According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the prices of some fresh rice varieties continued to decrease compared to the beginning of the week. Specifically, IR 50404 rice recorded the sharpest decrease.

Trading in the Southwestern region is quite quiet. In An Giang , the amount of harvested rice is not much, and transactions are slow. Similarly, Can Tho recorded weak purchasing power. Meanwhile, in Dong Thap, farmers still keep high selling prices but transactions are sparse due to few new buyers.

Domestic rice and by-product market

In contrast to paddy prices, domestic raw rice and finished rice prices remained stable. Factories in An Giang and Dong Thap reported high rice inventories and slow purchases from warehouses.

At retail markets, the price of rice is usually adjusted down by about VND2,000/kg, down to VND11,000 - 12,000/kg. Other high-quality rice varieties such as Nang Nhen, Huong Lai, and Jasmine remain stable, at VND28,000/kg, VND22,000/kg, and VND17,000 - 18,000/kg, respectively.

Export rice prices remain stable

In the world market, Vietnam's rice export prices continue to move sideways. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the selling prices of all types of rice remain stable.
