ST25 rice continues to win first prize in the World's Best Rice contest in 2025

Vietnam's Ong Cua ST25 rice and Cambodia's Phka Romdoul rice have both won first prize at the "World's Best Rice" contest in 2025 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

On the afternoon of November 9, Labor Hero Ho Quang Cua - the father of the ST 25 rice variety - told Tuoi Tre Online that at the 17th Global Rice Trade Conference organized by The Rice Trader (TRT) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, just announced a few hours ago, Ong Cua ST25 Rice of Vietnam and Phka Romdoul Rice of Cambodia had excellently won the first prize in the " World's Best Rice" contest in 2025.

Mr. Cua said that this year's competition had many countries sending rice to the competition, including the host Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Australia, Philippines... At the above event, Ho Quang Tri Private Enterprise - the producer of Ong Cua ST25 rice - shared about the journey of researching and developing high-quality ST fragrant rice varieties over the past 30 years and the positive impact of the World's Best Rice award.

In addition, this enterprise also shared the spillover effects from helping to increase farmers' income to helping build the brand "High-quality Vietnamese rice" and the journey to open up demanding markets such as the US, Japan, Europe and Australia...

According to Mr. Cua, with its continuous ranking among the world's best rice varieties for many consecutive years, Ong Cua ST25 rice continues to affirm Vietnam's pioneering position on the world rice map.

So far, ST25 rice has won the "World's Best Rice" contest three times in 2019, 2023 and 2025.
