On November 9, the Trang An Marathon 2025 kicked off in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh, welcoming more than 10,000 athletes from all provinces and cities across the country and more than 15 countries around the world .
10,000 is also a record number for the tournament, far exceeding the number of participants of previous years since the tournament was held annually from 2021.
The event, organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province in coordination with related units, has become the largest annual sports activity of the year in the province. It contributes to promoting the sports movement, spreading the spirit of healthy living - green living and promoting the image of the Trang An World Heritage Site to the world.
The race took place with 4 distances: marathon (42.195km), half marathon (21.095km), (10km), (5km). With 4 distances - 4 different routes, the athletes had great experiences.
All four distances of the tournament are measured, monitored and confirmed to meet technical standards by the Vietnam Athletics Federation, ensuring that athletes' achievements are officially recognized.
In the 42.195km men's race, Ho Quang Binh won with a time of 2 hours 38 minutes 38 seconds. Athlete Pham Thi My Duyen won the women's race with a time of 3 hours 13 minutes 37 seconds. Each champion athlete of this distance received 15 million VND in prize money. The total prize value of the race is 500 million VND.
This year, due to being busy with the national team preparing for the 33rd SEA Games, Nguyen Thi Oanh - who won this tournament - did not participate.
Trang An Marathon 2025 takes place at a special moment - Celebrating the merger of the three provinces of Nam Dinh - Ha Nam - Ninh Binh and the success of the 1st Ninh Binh Provincial Party Congress.
After 5 years of formation and development, Trang An Marathon has become a symbol of sports - culture - tourism of Ninh Binh, where sports and heritage blend, spreading the image of Trang An World Cultural and Natural Heritage to international friends.
The race continues to affirm its brand positioning as "A race in the heart of heritage", aiming to build Ninh Binh into a green and sustainable sports tourism center in the future.
