On the afternoon of November 9, Ly Thi Luyen shone in her second time wearing the Mongolian club Hobby Ace's jersey, helping her team win a dramatic 3-2 victory over Darkhan Moguls.
The 1m95 tall Vietnamese girl made a strong impression in the final game with successful blocks at crucial moments, helping Hobby Ace win 15-10.
Those are the qualities that Vietnamese volleyball has always expected from the athlete known as the tallest in Vietnamese women's volleyball.
Ly Thi Luyen is 25 years old this year, from Hung Yen . She is famous for her height of 1m95. At the age of 17, she joined Duc Giang Chemical Club and became a star not long after.
This "garden crane" girl is the pillar that helps Duc Giang Chemicals join the strongest group of teams in the Vietnam Championship. As for the Vietnam team, she contributed to helping the team win the AVC Challenge Cup 2023.
In the past 2 years, the girl from Hung Yen has not been called up to the national team often. And with the determination to return to the national team, Ly Thi Luyen has decided to go abroad to play for the Mongolian club Hobby Ace.
In the first match in Mongolia, Ly Thi Luyen played relatively well even though her team lost to Khinchin TG with a score of 2-3.
By the second match, Ly Thi Luyen had completely integrated and made a clear impression. Not only that, this 1m95 tall girl also surprised fans with her outstanding appearance.

"I always thought Thanh Thuy was the tallest female volleyball player in Vietnam, but I didn't expect this girl number 19 (at Hobby Ace) to be even taller," a Thai fan commented on the World Volleyball Asia forum.
"The girl wearing the number 19 jersey is too tall, she completely dominates the net duels," a Mongolian fan commented on the team's homepage.
It can be said that Ly Thi Luyen's height of 1m95 is extremely rare in Asian volleyball. At the 2025 World Championship, only China is the Asian team that owns athletes this tall.
Thanks to her height advantage, Ly Thi Luyen is always expected to be the main striker of the Vietnam volleyball team.
Although she has not reached the level of top stars like Thanh Thuy and Bich Thuy, Ly Thi Luyen's playing abroad and initial success has helped her to have a bright chance to return to the Vietnamese national team.
