Rice price today November 8, 2025: Rice tends to increase again

Today's domestic rice prices, November 8, 2025, remained stable for paddy but increased again for rice. Meanwhile, Vietnam's export rice prices remained stable.

The rice market on November 8, 2025 is slightly down in rice but little changed in rice.

Rice prices today (November 8) are stable again, traders rarely buy new, buying and selling transactions are still slow.

• IR 50404 rice (fresh) is priced around 5,100 - 5,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) is traded at 5,300 - 5,500 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) is priced at 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg;
• OM 380 rice (fresh) is around 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) is fluctuating around 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg.
• The price of IR 4625 sticky rice (fresh) is at 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg; while IR 4625 sticky rice (dried) is at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. The price of 3-month-old dry sticky rice is trading around 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Update rice price today 11/8/2025 latest

Rice price today (November 8) increased slightly, buying transactions are sporadic, purchasing power is still not high.

• The price of raw rice IR 50404 is at 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; finished rice IR 50404 is at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg;
• The price of raw rice OM 5451 fluctuates at 7,950 - 8,100 VND/kg; while raw rice OM 18 costs 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg.
• Raw rice OM 380 is priced at 7,800 - 7,900 VND/kg; finished rice OM 380 is priced at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, raw rice CL 555 is priced at 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg.
• The price of IR 504 raw rice fluctuates at 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. The price of Soc Det raw rice is 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg (up 200 VND).
• Sticky rice price is 21,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Regular rice is at 11,000 - 12,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice is priced at 28,000 VND/kg.
• The price of long grain fragrant rice is 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice is 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice remains at 22,000 VND/kg.
• The purchase price of common white rice is 16,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is 21,000 VND/kg; Soc Thuong rice is 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; and Soc Thai rice is 20,000 VND/kg.
• Taiwanese fragrant rice is currently priced at 20,000 VND/kg; while Japanese rice is currently priced at 22,000 VND/kg.

The price of broken rice 3,4 is at 7,100 - 7,200 VND/kg, the price of bran is at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remain stable. Accordingly, 100% broken rice is priced at 314 - 317 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is purchased at 415 - 430 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice is priced at 478 - 482 USD/ton.

Thus, the price of rice today, November 8, 2025, increased slightly compared to yesterday.

Hai Phong: The "one rice - one shrimp" model brings sustainable economic value

Having been chasing productivity with chemical fertilizers and pesticides, the fields of Chi Minh commune ( Hai Phong city) have gradually become barren, and “heavenly gifts” such as earthworms and clams are increasingly disappearing. Realizing the connection between chemicals and the disappearance of natural resources, the people here have chosen a different direction: gradually reducing, then completely eliminating chemical pesticides, only planting one spring rice crop to let the land rest and recover. From there, the “one rice – one earthworm” farming model was born.

Although the yield of organic rice is only 40-42 quintals/ha, lower than conventional farming, the economic value is outstanding. Clean rice is favored by the market, and after the rice crop, the fields become an ideal environment for the growth of earthworms and clams. Every flood season, people harvest "heaven's blessings" with fresh earthworms priced at 400,000-500,000 VND/kg, clams also become a hot specialty.

According to Mr. Pham Xuan Luan, Director of An Thanh Agricultural Service Cooperative, the total income from organic rice and earthworms and crabs is 2-3 times higher than that from growing two regular rice crops. This model not only protects the land, water, and farmers' health but also helps to improve the quality of local agricultural products. Currently, the commune has 320 hectares applying organic farming, reaching a value of 500-600 million VND/ha/year.

In particular, Ho Chi Minh City also develops eco-tourism with the "Rice Festival" and "Festival of playing with bamboo shoots" attracting thousands of tourists. The local government sets a goal for the period 2025 - 2030 to build organic agriculture associated with experiential tourism, towards a sustainable agriculture in harmony with nature.
