Rice price today September 23: Slow transactions, stable market

Rice prices today, September 23, remained stable in many localities, buying and selling transactions were slow, and export markets maintained stable prices.

Domestic rice market

Rice prices on September 23 in the Mekong Delta recorded little fluctuation. The remaining supply of Summer-Autumn rice is not much, making buying and selling transactions quite slow. In An Giang , there are fewer purchasing warehouses, traders are trading less, but prices remain stable. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the main types of rice maintain the old prices, without major fluctuations.

At Sa Dec market canal ( Dong Thap ), the amount of rice arriving is not much but the selling price is still relatively stable. Some places like An Cu - Dong Thap recorded a small amount of goods, while the supply of horizontal rice is scarce, the transactions are quite quiet.

In Can Tho, when the Summer-Autumn rice supply is almost exhausted, many buyers have begun to show interest in Autumn-Winter rice, but the buying rate is still slow. Vinh Long and Ca Mau also share the same situation of slow buying and selling, the price of fresh rice remains stable. In Tay Ninh, the market transactions are sparse, Autumn-Winter rice is scarce, the price remains stable.

Rice prices on the domestic market

In An Giang, the export price of IR 504 raw rice remained at VND8,100 - 8,200/kg, while OM 18 was at VND8,500 - 8,600/kg. OM 380, CL 555 and OM 5451 rice also maintained stable margins. For finished rice, OM 380 fluctuated from VND8,800 - 9,000/kg, while IR 504 was at VND9,500 - 9,700/kg.

In the retail market, rice prices remained unchanged compared to the weekend. Nang Nhen rice remained at its highest level of VND28,000/kg, while popular varieties such as regular rice, Jasmine rice or common white rice ranged from VND13,000 to VND18,000/kg. Some fragrant and specialty rice varieties such as Huong Lai, Nang Hoa, Nhat rice or Soc rice also did not see significant changes.

Rice prices are stable in many provinces.

The price of fresh rice IR 50404 is currently around 5,000 - 5,100 VND/kg, OM 18 is at 5,600 - 5,800 VND/kg, and Dai Thom 8 is from 5,700 - 5,800 VND/kg. The prices of rice OM 5451, OM 308 or Nang Hoa 9 are still maintained at 5,700 - 6,200 VND/kg. Despite sparse trading, rice prices remain stable in most localities.

Export market maintains prices

In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices today are almost unchanged compared to the weekend. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 5% broken fragrant rice is fluctuating at 440 - 465 USD/ton, 100% broken rice is at 318 - 322 USD/ton, while Jasmine rice fluctuates from 453 - 499 USD/ton.

Current trading trends show that rice prices are still being maintained at stable levels, both in domestic and export markets, despite the gradually narrowing domestic supply.
