Workplace is a collaboration platform for businesses, developed by Facebook. This platform is used by companies and businesses to connect members, supporting effective human resource management in the business. Members can discuss, share images, videos and information related to work.
Through monitoring the situation on cyberspace, recently, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Hanoi City Police discovered the trick of subjects using fake emails, websites, groups, and fanpages of large corporations to recruit jobs.
When candidates apply, the subjects invite candidates to online interviews and ask them to join the business chat platform Workplace. Then, the subjects provide account numbers and ask candidates to transfer application fees to participate in the next interview round or deposit money into social security projects and then appropriate the money.
To prevent the above tricks, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Hanoi City Police, recommends that people be vigilant and inform their relatives and friends about the above tricks, to avoid falling into the trap of bad guys.
When working as a collaborator for companies, businesses, and suppliers of goods and services, people need to clearly check information about the goods and suppliers through many different sources to verify accuracy.
If fraud is detected, people need to immediately report it to the police to quickly verify, prevent and handle violators according to the law.
