Gold price today "evaporated" violently
As of 6:00 a.m. this morning (June 25), the world gold price today was recorded at 3,322 USD/ounce, down sharply by 48 USD compared to the peak last night (3,370 USD/ounce).
This is the lowest level in the past three weeks. The price of gold for August delivery is also not out of this trend, falling 69 USD to 3,326 USD/ounce.
The main reason for this decline comes from the sudden cooling of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
News of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, along with signals that Iran may not continue to retaliate against the US.
The cooling of the conflict has boosted US stock indexes in last night's trading session, as investors shifted from gold to stocks.
Overseas markets saw a weakening US dollar but crude oil futures plunged to $64.50 a barrel, which had some impact on the old trend of gold prices today.
Analysts say that in the short term, gold prices may continue to be under downward pressure due to optimistic sentiment in financial markets, weakening geopolitical tensions and safe-haven demand.
However, factors such as the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy, fluctuations in the US dollar and crude oil prices will continue to shape gold price trends in the coming time.
In Vietnam, as of the end of June 24, SJC gold price was listed at 119.5 million VND/tael (selling price), while gold buying price was at 116 million VND/tael.
