The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just sent a document to key traders and distributors of gasoline and oil regarding the management of domestic retail gasoline prices. Accordingly, gasoline prices will be reduced simultaneously from 3 p.m. today (October 23).
Specifically, E5RON92 gasoline has a ceiling price of 19,050 VND/liter, down 176 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline has a new price of 19,726 VND/liter, down 177 VND/liter compared to the previous adjustment on October 16. Following the same trend as gasoline prices, diesel oil decreased by 538 VND/liter, down to 17,885 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 291 VND/liter, the new price is 18,115 VND/liter; mazut oil decreased by 273 VND, down to 14,098 VND/kg.
Since the beginning of the year, the price stabilization fund has remained unchanged, with no deductions or expenditures for petroleum products. A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that up to the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,085 billion VND.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in this management period, the plan to manage gasoline prices aims to ensure that domestic gasoline price fluctuations are consistent with world gasoline price fluctuations; continue to maintain the price difference between E5RON92 biofuel and RON95 mineral gasoline at a reasonable level to encourage the use of biofuels according to the Government's policy; ensure the harmony of interests between market participants.
In the most recent adjustment on October 16, gasoline prices increased, specifically E5RON92 gasoline increased by 88 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 174 VND/liter. Contrary to the trend of gasoline prices, diesel prices decreased by 181 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 28 VND/liter and fuel oil decreased by 437 VND/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices is implemented every Thursday.
