Dong Nai proposes to invest in one more passenger station on the high-speed railway route through the province.

(DN) - On October 23, the Steering Committee for key works and important national projects in the railway sector held its fourth online conference to evaluate the implementation of works and projects in the past time; and at the same time, deploy a number of tasks in the coming time. Attending the meeting were Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Permanent Deputy Head and members of the Steering Committee.

At Dong Nai bridge, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee attended and chaired.

At the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Construction reported on the implementation of tasks assigned by the Steering Committee and the progress of railway projects and works; and at the same time, deployed a number of key tasks in the coming time.

Representatives of ministries, branches and localities reported on the progress of projects; clarified some difficulties and problems and recommended and proposed solutions to speed up the progress of projects in the railway sector.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said: The North-South high-speed railway line passing through Dong Nai is approximately 82km long, with one station at Long Thanh International Airport and a maintenance station in Xuan Duong commune. Currently, Dong Nai has established a Steering Committee for land clearance, chaired by the Provincial Party Secretary.

In addition, the Dong Nai Provincial Land Fund Development Center will be the investor to carry out compensation and site clearance. In addition, the province has also assigned the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to review and submit for approval the compensation and resettlement support plan. Dong Nai will have 8 resettlement areas to accommodate affected households.

Because the railway line passing through the province is long but only has one station at Long Thanh International Airport, Dong Nai province has proposed adding another passenger station located in Xuan Hoa commune, 48km from Long Thanh station and 63km from Muong Man station in Lam Dong province, ensuring the distance complies with regulations.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged the efforts of ministries, branches and localities in carrying out assigned tasks. The Government and ministries have been very active in arranging capital from many sources for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong project and the North - South high-speed railway. The Government aims to start construction of the first component of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway on December 19. In the coming time, the task is very heavy, so the Government requires the implementation of projects to ensure quality, technique, progress, efficiency and feasibility. The approach is to transfer technology, gradually develop and be autonomous in railway and subway technology, and develop the railway ecosystem.

Regarding land clearance, localities are focusing on directing and accelerating the progress of land clearance, relocation of technical infrastructure, and construction of resettlement areas according to the plan set out for each project, ensuring that people's new homes are better than or equal to their old homes.

The Ministry of Finance continues to guide and facilitate localities in providing and allocating capital to carry out this task.
