The Yen Bai Provincial Crossbow and Stick Pushing Championship is organized annually by the Yen Bai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to create a useful playground and select athletes to participate in national sports competitions.
The tournament is also an opportunity for crossbow and stick pushing enthusiasts to exchange, learn, practice health, and contribute to maintaining and developing traditional sports.
Crossbow shooting and stick pushing are two traditional sports of ethnic minorities in Yen Bai province, which are regularly practiced and competed in during leisure time or local festivals. These are also two strong sports, reaping many achievements for Yen Bai province at regional and national competitions.
The selection of athletes to compete in this year's tournament has been carefully selected, trained and prepared by the units . The athletes are trained and practiced regularly, so the matches with professional quality will create many attractive and dramatic matches.
Accordingly, the 2025 Yen Bai Provincial Crossbow and Stick Pushing Championship will be held on June 13 and 14, with the participation of nearly 100 athletes of all ages from districts and towns in Yen Bai province. Among them are many experienced athletes who have participated in many provincial tournaments and young athletes, participating for the first time.
On this occasion , the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Yen Bai awarded Certificates of Merit from the People's Committee of Yen Bai province to athletes with outstanding achievements at national mass sports competitions in 2024.
