This afternoon, June 27, the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee worked with the Department of Information and Communications on the results of the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of the year, the deployment of tasks in the last 6 months of the year and the results of the implementation of a number of resolutions of the Provincial People's Council in the field of information and communications. In the first 6 months of 2024, the Department of Information and Communications has effectively implemented key tasks in the fields of post and telecommunications, information technology, digital transformation, information, press, publishing, and professional activities.
The provincial Intelligent Operation Center (IOC) continues to be maintained and exploited effectively, integrating many services such as public administration supervision, traffic safety and public order and security supervision, medical supervision, education, economic and social information, environmental warnings, etc.
Regarding the tasks for the last 6 months of the year, the Department of Information and Communications focuses on advising on the implementation of Resolution No. 02-NQ/TU dated November 4, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on digital transformation of Quang Tri province to 2025, with a vision to 2030 and Decision No. 1982/QD-UBND dated July 29, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee on promulgating the Project on Digital Transformation of Quang Tri province to 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Continue to integrate industry databases into the province's shared database warehouse, deploy practical activities to celebrate National Digital Transformation Day and Quang Tri province (October 10).
Regarding the implementation of Resolution No. 06/2017/NQ-HDND dated May 23, 2017 of the Provincial People's Council on the planning for postal, telecommunications and information technology development in Quang Tri province to 2020, with a vision to 2030, the targets set out in the resolution have basically been achieved.
The Department has effectively implemented Resolution No. 25/NQ-HDND dated May 12, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council approving the investment policy for the project to build the Quang Tri Province Smart Monitoring and Operation Center. Investing in facilities for district-level radio stations according to the policy of Resolution No. 117/NQ-HDND dated August 30, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council. Implementing Resolution No. 26/2023/NQ-HDND dated March 28, 2023 of the Provincial People's Council on Regulations on the content and award levels of the Quang Tri Provincial Press Award.
Speaking at the meeting, Head of the Culture - Social Committee of the Provincial People's Council Ho Thi Thu Hang suggested that the Department of Information and Communications should pay more attention to the field of digital transformation, effectively exploit data, and share data from the IOC Center to serve the operational activities of relevant departments, branches and units. Raising awareness of digital transformation work of leaders at all levels, branches and localities to effectively implement the goals set out in Resolution 02 of the Provincial Party Committee.
Regarding investment in information technology infrastructure for digital transformation, the department needs to propose to the Provincial People's Committee to assign the department to take the lead in implementing the task. It is especially important to strengthen coordination with competent inspection and examination agencies to promptly handle social network accounts that violate regulations on management, provision, and use of internet services and online information.
