The Earth Hour 2025 event, with the message "Green Transition – Green Future," received a positive response from organizations, businesses, and people throughout the province. After one hour of switching off lights in response to the Earth Hour campaign from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on the evening of March 22nd, Bac Ninh saved more than 13,000 kWh; double the amount saved in 2024.
Many streets and areas in Bac Ninh City switched off their lights in response to Earth Hour.
In response to Earth Hour, all streets, public places, offices of agencies and businesses, service shops, etc., throughout the province simultaneously switched off unnecessary lighting. With these proactive measures, within 60 minutes of Earth Hour this year, the entire province saved more than 13,000 kWh of electricity. Nationwide, the amount of electricity saved was 448,000 kWh, equivalent to approximately 942.2 million VND.
To ensure the program's activities are meaningful and effective, Bac Ninh Power Company coordinated with relevant units to organize communication activities in response to Earth Hour in March, aiming to attract the attention of numerous organizations, agencies, and people in the province to participate in the campaign. This included leveraging the power of the internet, digital transformation, and social media to promote awareness about electricity saving and environmental protection.
2025 marks the 17th time Vietnam has participated in this campaign. The movement goes beyond simply calling for electricity conservation; it aims for a broader goal: encouraging sustainable energy production, increasing the use of renewable energy, promoting the application of energy-saving products and equipment, and contributing to improved energy efficiency in both economic and environmental aspects.
