On August 9, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Information and Communications , and the Vietnam Association for Information Technology jointly organized the 30th anniversary of the National Youth Informatics Contest and summarized and awarded prizes for the 30th Contest in 2024.

Attending the event were Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy; Permanent Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Ngoc Luong; Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai.


Awarding the For the Young Generation Medal to individuals who have made many contributions to the development of the Competition.

The National Youth Informatics Competition is a prestigious playground in the field of informatics, held annually since 1995. After 30 years of organization, the Competition has increasingly affirmed its attractiveness with an increasing number of high-quality contestants, and the rounds are organized methodically and scientifically .

From the first contest in 1995, there were 27 provinces and cities with contestants participating. By 2024, the 30th contest recorded 46 provinces and cities organizing provincial contests and 56 provinces and cities with contestants participating in the regional round of the contest.

The number of contestants has also increased steadily over the years, from 2020 to present, 5,822 contestants have participated in the regional round of the contest; 5,791 contestants have participated in the final round of the National Contest since the first season in 1995 to present.

Speaking at the program, Standing Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Ngoc Luong emphasized that over the past 30 years, the Youth Informatics Contest has increasingly affirmed itself as an attractive, prestigious and long-standing playground in the field of information technology for Vietnamese youth. The contest has attracted millions of youth, children and students nationwide to participate.

Also in those 30 years, the Contest has contributed to developing high-quality young human resources to serve the country's development. From the Contest, many students have become talented IT experts and engineers, working in the world's leading centers and corporations; many students have become successful IT managers and business owners at a very young age; many students are still making persistent efforts to study, build great ambitions, pioneer research and apply IT in new fields to real life...

To achieve such results, we must mention the efforts of innovation and creativity of the Organizing Committee in the content and organization method. In particular, the Organizing Committee has focused on current events, practicality and current issues to promptly update new, attractive content, suitable to the aspirations, needs and tastes of young people. That is the key factor for the Contest to be sustainable, widely spread, becoming an annual, periodic activity that students and parents look forward to.

Not only at the Central level, the Contest has created a great spread to provinces and cities; many localities have new ways of doing things, good ways of doing things, suitable to reality to make the contest truly exciting, attractive, and engaging; many localities still have difficulties in terms of facilities but have proactively overcome difficulties to organize the contest well such as: Yen Bai, Son La, Lang Son, Ca Mau...


Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy; Standing Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Ngoc Luong awarded the first prize to contestants in 7 groups at the final round of the 2024 National Youth Informatics Competition.

* Within the framework of the program, the Central Youth Union awarded the For the Young Generation Medal to 15 individuals, Certificates of Merit to 30 individuals and 30 groups that have made many contributions to the development of the Contest in the past time.

The Organizing Committee also awarded 11 First Prizes, 14 Second Prizes, 29 Third Prizes and 84 Consolation Prizes in 7 categories at the final round of the National Youth Informatics Competition 2024. Taking place from August 7 to August 9 in Hanoi, this year's final round had 181 contestants competing. 2024 is also a record year in terms of the number of contestants with nearly 120,000 contestants competing at all levels, 1,718 contestants selected to participate in the regional round.

The organizers also said that the creative products participating in the contest are all carefully and seriously invested, with many unique ideas and great development potential, the diversity in the field of approach is also a highlight. From practical issues such as education, health, environmental protection, agriculture to supporting the disadvantaged in society and traffic safety, showing the flexibility and constant creativity of the contestants. Along with advanced technology solutions such as AI, IoT, and mobile applications... have been effectively exploited and brought breakthrough and useful ideas to the community.

The Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Da Nang City; the second prize to Hanoi City and the third prize to Lam Dong Province.
