Local consumers participated in shopping for goods during this year's April 30th holiday.

The first month of the second quarter, with its consecutive holidays, created opportunities for vibrant goods circulation, tourism , and transportation activities in the province. Mr. Pham Quang Hau, Managing Director of Sonata Resort & Spa (Tien Thanh Ward), stated that the occupancy rate from the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday to the April 30th holiday reached over 90%, with rooms fully booked on peak days. During this period, most leading local retailers launched major promotional programs. Many essential domestically produced goods offered consumers incredibly attractive prices, with discounts of "50% off" or "buy one, get two free," boosting consumer demand.

In April 2026, the total retail sales of goods and services in Lam Dong province were estimated at VND 16,200 billion (a 14.37% increase compared to the same period last year), with total retail sales of goods reaching VND 10,150 billion (a 13.79% increase) and revenue from accommodation, food, and tourism services reaching approximately VND 3,100 billion (a 17.25% increase). Overall, from the beginning of the year to date, the total retail sales of goods and services are estimated at nearly VND 62,820 billion (a 13.15% increase compared to the same period last year), of which total retail sales of goods reached VND 39,141.7 billion (an 11.94% increase) and revenue from accommodation, food, and tourism services reached over VND 12,113 billion (an approximately 18% increase). And this is also the sector expected to contribute to the service sector achieving its double-digit growth target in 2026.

Looking back at the first quarter of 2026, the service sector in the province grew by 8.2% (higher than the industrial and construction sector - which grew by 7.91%, and the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector - which grew by 5.39%). However, due to several reasons, it has not yet reached the expected growth rate of 12.45%. To adapt to the actual situation, the Provincial People's Committee recently issued a decision to adjust and supplement the double-digit growth scenario for 2026. According to the GRDP growth plan of over 10%, the service sector needs to show an annual growth rate of 12.81%, while total retail sales of goods and service revenue reach VND 236,750 billion, with total retail sales of goods contributing VND 130,950 billion… Therefore, the service sector must strive to accelerate further to achieve the set target for 2026. Specifically, the second quarter needs to achieve a growth rate of... It rose from 13.81% in the first quarter to 14.12% in the third quarter and increased to 14.65% in the fourth quarter.

At the provincial People's Committee meeting to assess the situation in the first quarter of this year, Mr. Pham Quoc Hung, Head of the Provincial Statistics Department, stated that the service sector is one of the areas that needs attention because it accounts for a large proportion and makes a significant contribution to local economic growth. Therefore, all remaining quarters of 2026 should focus on strengthening this sector, in addition to the main focus on trade, also considering the significant contributions from tourism, transportation, etc.

Contributing to the growth of the service sector, the province is currently promoting the domestic market development program, stimulating consumer demand, and supporting the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign. Alongside this, the "Welcome to the 2026 Summer Tourism Season" series of activities has officially launched, expected to last until the end of August this year with many attractive and unique events. Through related services, the locality also aims for annual tourism revenue of 71,500 billion VND and transportation and warehousing revenue of 17,520 billion VND… This will not only contribute to ensuring the achievement of the double-digit growth target for the service sector but also promote the continued economic development of Lam Dong in the coming period.
