Ly Lo Hu in Co Lo village confided: Being a poor household, for many years, my family had to live in a makeshift house. Recently, the State supported 60 million VND to build a new house; the villagers and the Border Guard helped with labor, I was able to build a new solid house. This has been a dream for many years, my family will try to develop the economy , rise out of poverty.
Since the beginning of the year, the People's Committee of Pa U commune has implemented synchronous solutions to effectively implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households. Accordingly, 439 households have been supported (416 newly built houses and 23 repaired houses) with a total cost of over 25 billion VND.
Talking to us, comrade Nguyen Khanh Yen - Chairman of Pa U Commune People's Committee said: Most of the households receiving housing support are poor, the counterpart funding is limited, there are difficulties in preparing materials and leveling the ground. The erratic weather has a certain impact on the house building process of some households. In particular, the mountainous, complex terrain and steep slopes slow down the progress of the local program implementation.
In the spirit of "Leaving no one behind", the Commune Steering Committee widely disseminates the content of the support policy, the role of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for policy families, poor and near-poor households in the area. Assigning cadres and civil servants in charge of villages to organize propaganda, mobilize and review, summarize the number of temporary and dilapidated houses that need support to ensure the right beneficiaries. The departments, offices and mass organizations of the commune disseminate and mobilize members, union members and people to support households with working days.
The work of removing temporary and dilapidated houses in Pa U commune has received active participation from the Border Guard. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy Political Commissar of Pa U Border Guard Station shared: The station mobilized 142 officers and soldiers to participate in 173 working days with the locality, the forces built 36 new houses. Of which, they participated in dismantling, transporting, and leveling the ground of 13 houses; built additional ancillary works; mobilized officers and soldiers to support 11.5 million VND to support extremely disadvantaged households. This contributed significantly to strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people, further shining the quality of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.
Up to now, Pa U commune has basically completed the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Thereby, it shows that the Party and State's policies have been implemented resolutely and effectively by the Party Committee and the commune government. When poor and near-poor households have settled down, the locality will certainly successfully carry out the task of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security.
