Sending more than 2 million messages warning people of severe cold

The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control under the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with Zalo to send messages to people in the provinces of Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son through the Zalo OA (Official Account) page "National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control".

As of November 26, nearly 2.4 million messages have been sent to people in areas affected by severe cold via Zalo.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the night of November 26, 2024, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold with the lowest temperature commonly ranging from 16-18 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas 12-14 degrees Celsius, and in high mountainous areas below 10 degrees Celsius.

Through the coordination between the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Zalo, people can access information quickly, easily and accurately, thereby having a plan to prevent severe cold in a timely manner.

After nearly 4 years of implementation, the Zalo OA page of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention has attracted more than 446,000 interested people.

According to information from Zalo, on average, more than 120 million emergency messages are sent each year to people in areas affected by natural disasters and severe weather, contributing to ensuring a continuous and accurate information system to the community.

By the end of October, Zalo had supported relevant agencies in sending more than 214 million disaster prevention messages in 2024.

In the coming time, this platform will continue to promote support for ministries, departments and branches to send information related to natural disaster prevention and flood warnings.
