Attending the opening ceremony on the Central side were comrades: Party Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh; Alternate Party Central Committee member, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh and representatives of relevant units.

On the Hanoi side, there were comrades: Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong.

Also attending were members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee Nguyen Doan Toan, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the City Party Committee Do Anh Tuan; Head of the Organization Committee of the City Party Committee Ha Minh Hai, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Pham Qui Tien and representatives of leaders of relevant units.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, initiative and creativity of the City People's Committee Office; acknowledged and commended the efforts of the City's Center for Communications, Data and Digital Technology - a newly arranged and consolidated unit but has pioneered and is ready to take on the role of operating the Capital Press Center with a spirit of professionalism, creativity, responsibility and innovation.

Comrade Tran Sy Thanh said that Hanoi is the national political and administrative center, a major center of culture, science, education, economy and international transactions of the whole country. Every year, thousands of political, cultural, economic, defense and security events take place in the capital. Hanoi is also the headquarters of hundreds of central and local press agencies and representative offices of foreign press agencies.

To meet the requirements of improving the quality of information and communication in the digital age, ensuring fast, accurate and timely information, the city has decided to build a professional, modern, multi-functional and applicable Capital Press Center, integrating digital technology in communication activities.

“This will be the focal point for receiving, processing and providing information from the city’s state administrative agencies. At the same time, it will be a forum connecting agencies and units in the city’s political system with news agencies, people and businesses,” said Mr. Tran Sy Thanh.

Comrade Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that the opening of the Hanoi Capital Press Center, a new and modern press and media institution, is a strong commitment from the city government in the roadmap to build a public - transparent - modern administration. This is a practical action towards the goal of better serving the people, businesses and the press and media community at home and abroad.

In that spirit, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh requested that the press not only convey information, but also accompany, criticize, create and spread values; not stand outside the innovation cycle but be one of the driving forces promoting that process.

In response to the current urgent need, the Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the opening of the Hanoi Capital Press Center will create a modern working environment, effectively supporting domestic and international press agencies with modern and synchronous facilities.

Don't avoid the media, but actively cooperate

Regarding the upcoming tasks, comrade Tran Sy Thanh suggested that the Capital Press Center must truly be an "open" center - where all voices are heard, all data is connected, and information is shared transparently - accurately - promptly.

Departments, branches, sectors and local authorities must identify communication as part of the management tool. In that, they must not avoid communication, but proactively cooperate, provide information, dialogue and handle with the highest sense of responsibility.

The Center for Communications, Data and Digital Technology - the operating unit needs to maintain professionalism, objectivity, and constantly innovate and create so that the Center can become a focal point for integrating information and spreading honest values.

Comrade Tran Sy Thanh suggested that from now on, central and local press agencies can consider the Capital Press Center as their "second office".

At the opening ceremony, the Office of the Hanoi People's Committee announced the Regulations on management, operation, exploitation and use of the Hanoi Capital Press Center, establishing a legal framework for organizing, coordinating and implementing activities at the Center.

An important highlight of the event was the signing of a cooperation program between the Hanoi People's Committee Office and the Government Electronic Information Portal to establish a mechanism for data connection and communication, enhance two-way information exchange, and support the press in accessing official news sources more quickly and conveniently.

The Hanoi Center for Communication, Data and Digital Technology and the capital's press agencies have signed a cooperation agreement to establish a press cooperation network, jointly exploit digital platforms, share information, and promptly respond to emerging social issues.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the City Center for Communications, Data and Digital Technology Do Dinh Son expressed his deep awareness that the expectations of the city leaders and press agencies today are a great honor, but also a very heavy responsibility. In the coming time, the Center is committed to operating according to the principles of "Professionalism - Transparency - Efficiency".
