(CLO) It is expected that in November, Hai Ba Trung district will change the name of the Capital Youth Park to Vo Thi Sau Park.
According to Hai Ba Trung district, with its prime location on Vo Thi Sau street and the current status of the monument of the same name, the district proposed to change the park's name to Vo Thi Sau Park.

Mr. Ngo The Anh, Deputy Director of the Hai Ba Trung District Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the unit has been assigned by the district to carry out the project of lowering the fence of the Capital Youth Park on two sections of Vo Thi Sau and Thanh Nhan streets.
The barricade on Vo Thi Sau Street from the gate of Queen Bee Restaurant (old) to the intersection of Vo Thi Sau - Thanh Nhan will be implemented first, then the barricade on Thanh Nhan Street from the intersection with Vo Thi Sau to the section adjacent to Thanh Nhan Hospital Funeral Home will be handled.
The tree bed strip will replace the removed fence, creating a soft fence separating the park from the sidewalk and road.
In November, the Board will implement two projects to improve the sidewalks of Vo Thi Sau and Thanh Nhan streets with a total length of more than 600 m. After completion, the district can temporarily stop granting parking permits on the sidewalks of the two streets and arrange other suitable parking spots.
The removal of fences and renovation of the two streets is expected to be completed before the Lunar New Year 2025.
Hai Ba Trung District believes that the adjustment will completely change the function, from a theme park exclusively for teenagers to a cultural and sports space serving all residents.
The Capital Youth Park project (Thanh Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district) was approved by the Hanoi People's Committee in 2000, with a scale of more than 26 hectares and a total investment of more than 280 billion VND.
During the operation process, the project had 14 construction items that violated planning and construction permits, such as Queen Bee restaurant; office building; two outdoor tennis courts...
This is a complicated, long-standing case that has not yet been completely resolved.
Hanoi City has a policy of building an open park, removing all fences so that people can freely enter and exit. At the end of 2022, the above policy will be implemented at Thong Nhat Park with a section of fence removed on Tran Nhan Tong Street.
In October 2023, the City People's Council approved the policy of renovating and removing all 1,700m of fence surrounding Thong Nhat Park and installing security and order surveillance cameras.
However, due to changes in management hierarchy, the park was transferred from the Department of Construction to Hai Ba Trung district, so the renovation progress is slow, and no more meters of fence have been removed after the end of 2022.
