– The capital Hanoi is bustling with preparations for the National Day on September 2nd, attracting a large number of tourists, turning this important historical event into a golden opportunity to explore a thousand-year-old Hanoi, both solemn and full of life.
This is not just a regular holiday but also a major historical milestone, promising to bring unique experiences, combining the solemnity of the Anniversary and the cultural beauty and thousand-year history of Hanoi.
Grand ceremony awaits visitors to the capital
Preparations for the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 are "heating up" the capital's tourism market, clearly shown through the wave of early room bookings.
Tourists from provinces and cities, especially big cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, are eagerly searching for information about the festival, booking flight tickets and hotel rooms months in advance.
This event not only attracts those who want to relax but is also an ideal destination for those who want to immerse themselves in the sacred historical atmosphere and large-scale cultural activities.
According to the latest data from the Booking.com platform, Hanoi has risen to the top of the list of most searched destinations by Vietnamese people, a sharp increase compared to the same period last year (from 7th place to 1st place).
The increased interest in Hanoi’s tourist attractions was recorded among all tourist groups, from families (up from 14th), groups of friends (up from 9th), couples (up from 7th) and even solo travelers (up from 2nd). This shows the multi-dimensional appeal of Hanoi to all audiences.
In fact, many accommodations around Ba Dinh Square have seen a sudden increase in bookings for September 2. Ms. Cao Thuy Linh, co-founder of the Chiru Homestay chain, said: “In previous years, our homestays were often fully booked on National Day. But this year, the number of guests increased dramatically and the rooms were fully booked very early, right after the April 30 – May 1 holiday. Notably, most of the guests came from the South and Central regions.”
Chiru Homestay’s two locations at Ngo Thi Nham and Nguyen Thai Hoc have been fully booked for many days. Most guests have chosen to stay from August 30 – the day of the parade rehearsal – until September 2.
The need is not only limited to accommodation but also linked to the desire to directly immerse oneself in the solemn, vibrant atmosphere of the important celebration.
A similar situation occurred at the Royal Hotel on Hang Chao Street. A hotel representative said: “We received many booking requests from guests from the South and Central regions 2-3 months ago, even though there was no official information about the celebration.” With prices ranging from VND400,000 to VND500,000 per room, the hotel is now fully booked for the September 2 holiday.
REY Hotel Hanoi (Ly Nam De Street) also recorded maximum room occupancy. A hotel representative shared: “On our booking system, there are currently no rooms available on the night of September 1. Both international and domestic guests have booked rooms very early, showing the special attraction of Hanoi during the great holiday.”
Hanoi is ready to welcome a wave of tourists
The 80th National Day celebration on September 2nd is a major milestone, expected to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists to the capital. As one of the largest tourist centers in the country, Hanoi has been actively preparing for this important event.
Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that the capital's tourism industry has prepared very early, aiming to launch diverse products as well as ensure service quality at new accommodation facilities.
To welcome tourists coming to the capital on this special occasion, the Hanoi Department of Tourism has directed units and businesses to improve the quality of tourism products and upgrade accommodation facilities, especially those in the city center.
“We have built 80 new tours and products based on the city’s existing tourist attractions. The purpose is that when visitors come to the capital, they will not only visit the central area but also have the opportunity to experience other locations such as Son Tay, Ba Vi, etc. We have built these routes and products to facilitate visitors, who can travel in one or two days. This not only helps visitors have more experiences, but also avoids being too concentrated at one time, which can cause congestion and inconvenience to visitors,” Ms. Dang Huong Giang informed.
The city has also stepped up propaganda and encouraged establishments and hotels to open their doors to welcome tourists and residents to use free restroom facilities, contributing to creating the most convenient and comfortable conditions for tourists. In particular, Hanoi is also launching an environmental protection campaign.
“We really hope that people and tourists coming to Hanoi will show their love for Hanoi and Vietnam through concrete actions, join hands to protect the environment, throw garbage in the right place, limit the use of plastic products and non-recyclable products. We hope this is also a good opportunity to communicate about environmental protection,” affirmed the leader of the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
The capital’s tourism industry and travel agencies are proactively innovating their products, ready to welcome large-scale visitors. According to a representative of the Hanoi Tourism Association, member businesses are actively improving service quality, standardizing human resources, and proactively building suitable products.
In particular, suburban tours such as: Ba Vi, Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, Da Chong - K9 relic site or tours to craft villages and heritage exploration are being developed, contributing to regulating the flow of visitors and increasing cultural and historical experiences for visitors during the great festival.
The National Day on September 2 is not only a great historical event but also a golden opportunity for tourists to explore a colorful Hanoi.
From thousand-year-old cultural relics to vibrant cultural activities, along with the careful preparation of the tourism industry, the Capital promises to bring unforgettable experiences, so that every visitor can fully feel the heartbeat of Vietnam at this historic moment.
