– On August 23, the Hanoi People's Committee sent an official dispatch to the Departments of Finance, Construction, Culture and Sports, Tourism, Science and Technology and the People's Committees of wards and communes regarding exemption of fares for subsidized public passenger transport (buses and urban railways) for people and tourists on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2.
The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over, direct, and coordinate with the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center, public passenger transport service providers by subsidized buses, and Hanoi Railway Company Limited to deploy implementation plans to ensure safety, meaning, and efficiency.
At the same time, best serve the travel needs of people and tourists; monitor passenger volume, promptly adjust and increase frequency, trips, and operating time to serve people and tourists in case of increased travel demand; have a plan to strictly control and be responsible for the accuracy of the number of free tickets for payment and settlement of subsidy funds in accordance with regulations.
Assign the Department of Finance, based on its assigned functions and tasks, to synthesize and advise on subsidy funding sources, report to competent authorities for approval; guide the Department of Construction and related units to arrange, use, and settle subsidy funding in accordance with regulations.
Assign the Departments of Culture, Sports , Tourism, Science and Technology; People's Committees of wards and communes to strengthen propaganda and information work on traffic diversion plans, stops, parking lots, bus route operation plans and public passenger transport networks connecting to tourist attractions and events of the capital so that the majority of people and tourists know and participate.
Previously, in order to serve the increasing travel needs of people and tourists, Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. (Hanoi Metro) announced to adjust the train schedule on route 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong and route 3.1 Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station as follows:
August 21, 24, 27 and 29: Trains run from 05:30 to 24:00 (2 hours longer than usual). Intervals of 6-10 minutes/trip, during extended hours, 10 minutes interval applies.
August 30: Operating hours: 05:00 – 22:00. Interval: 6 minutes/trip during 05:00 – 08:00; 10 minutes/trip during the remaining time frames.
September 1, 2025: Operating hours: 05:30 – 24:00 (2 hours longer than usual). Equally spaced 10 minutes/trip throughout the day.
National Day 2.9: Continuous operation from 00:00 to 22:00. 6-minute interval between trips during peak hours (4:30 - 7:30 and 11:00 - 14:30). Other times: 10 minutes/trip.
The company also noted that trains will be temporarily suspended from 3:10 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. for technical work. On other days, trains will operate on a normal schedule from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
