During the summer of 2024, Thang Long Puppetry Theater ( Hanoi ) staged many unique puppetry art programs to serve young audiences in the capital.
Specifically, the dry puppet show includes performances such as the human puppet show "The Green Frog and Friends" ; the string puppet show "The Old Lady Goes to the Festival," the scene "Little Red Riding Hood," the song "Journey to the West performed by the four masters and disciples of Tang Monk" ; the hand puppet show "Swan Lake"; the singing and dancing show "Bong Bang"; Flamenco dance, Latin dance; bullfighting performance...
With a message promoting solidarity, children get to meet charming characters and many unique new puppetry forms.
The program focuses on a new staging style to create interactions between lively characters, close to children like close friends.
The program is both highly entertaining and has a gentleeducational meaning for children, helping them to love, help others, work hard and be honest in life.
The program combines water puppetry and dry puppetry. Part one introduces children to unique traditional water puppetry performances such as Tieu Giao Tro, Bat Co Hoi, Mua Rong, Mua Frog, Bat Fox Tac Nguon, Bat Ca, Mua Tien.
Part two is a variety of puppet shows: Alibaba puppets, Latin dance string puppetry, "The yellow bee goes to school" skit, " Drum rice " hand puppetry, " Red ban flower", animated dance...
The traditional water puppet show is elaborately staged with 16 acts: " Teacher's play, Flag playing, Dragon dance, Buffalo herding and flute playing, Agriculture , plowing, Frog fishing, Fox fighting and duck catching, Fishing, Children playing in the water, Phoenix dance, Le Loi cruise, Boat racing, Lion dance, Fairy dance, Four sacred animals dance" ...
Through the programs, children will see colorful puppets performing flexible movements on the water, combined with unique sound elements to create a unique puppetry art of the Northern Delta region. The content of the puppetry performances revolves around topics of daily life such as dragon dance, phoenix dance, fishing, farming...
Thereby, helping children better understand the daily lives of people, contributing significantly to the dissemination of production knowledge, educating patriotism, ethics, and life principles.
Director of Thang Long Puppetry Theatre, Meritorious Artist Tran Thanh Hien said the Theatre is determined to always have new art performances to serve young audiences.
To orient the art and help children love traditional puppetry, the Theater focuses on creating unique and novel programs that are closely related to the life and spiritual culture of Vietnamese people.
