Speaking at the seminar, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Anh Quan stated that in Hai Phong, Korea is currently the second largest investor in terms of the number of projects with 186 projects and the first in terms of total registered investment capital, reaching 14.2 billion USD. Korean investors' projects are assessed to operate effectively, with many high-tech products, gradually helping to increase the technology and science content of local enterprises, helping to increase export turnover, solve labor problems and make important contributions to the city's budget.
Hai Phong values the business community in general, and Korean businesses in particular, which have actively accompanied the city's development process in recent times. The city is committed to always accompanying and creating favorable conditions for FDI enterprises to confidently invest long-term, effectively and sustainably in the locality.
In the coming time, the city will continue to improve the business investment environment, support businesses in accessing land, credit, and human resources; pay attention to training labor resources, especially high-quality labor; support domestic enterprises, small and medium enterprises of the city in building enterprises capable of cooperating with FDI enterprises, and have good access to advanced technology to cooperate effectively with Korean enterprises.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee hopes that the discussion will help both sides better understand the opportunities and challenges to propose effective solutions in production and business cooperation, and improve coordination efficiency.
Chairman of the Korean Business Association in Hai Phong Seog Myeong Gug said that the seminar was of practical significance, creating opportunities for Vietnamese and Korean businesses in Hai Phong to understand and cooperate more deeply, especially in the field of supplying supporting products and human resources. This cooperation helps FDI enterprises reduce production costs, improve competitiveness and contribute to strengthening their competitiveness in the international market.
At the seminar, delegates focused on discussing the following issues: The situation of labor supply for Korean enterprises in Hai Phong, the demand for skilled technical labor in the context of expanding investment and increasing production demand in the locality; experience in cooperation between Vietnam - Korea, Hai Phong and Korean enterprises; strengthening connections with Vietnamese enterprises in the field of supporting industries, etc.
