According to the Announcement, after only 9 months of construction, the shape of the National Exhibition Fair Center with international scale and modernity has gradually taken shape, shortening the construction time compared to the original plan.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the construction progress of the National Exhibition Fair Center on May 19.
The National Exhibition Fair Center is a symbolic project of the country and the capital Hanoi on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), with the long-term goal of: (i) Forming a world-class Exhibition Fair Center, demonstrating the national stature and growth of the country in terms of scale, architecture, modernity, art, landscape, and symbolic construction of strength, architectural culture, landscape, environment, and governance; (ii) Ensuring enough space to exhibit the achievements of ministries, departments, branches, agencies, organizations, and localities over the past 80 years; the space must be calculated to show the longitudinal section of 80 years and the transverse section through each period; worthy of the heroic historical tradition of the nation over the past 80 years and the efforts to overcome difficulties of our country after 40 years of renovation, especially the recent very difficult years; (iii) Long-term development to become a place connecting the culture and history of Co Loa, the historical traditions of this area, creating a complex of culture, art, history, and cultural traditions of the capital Hanoi and our nation; (iv) Promoting the development of cultural industry, especially the entertainment industry, exploiting all spaces, creating conditions for artists to have space to perform, demonstrate their talents, converge and spread the quintessence of national culture with the spirit of internationalizing national cultural identity abroad and at the same time nationalizing human civilization, harmoniously combining human civilization with culture and national identity, so that people can enjoy culture, so that cultural industry and entertainment industry become key economic sectors, supporting tourism development; (v) Forming tourism products of sufficient caliber, making international friends proud, contributing to enhancing the role and position of Vietnam in the international arena, promoting the image of our country in the process of rapid and sustainable development; (vi) People must enjoy the achievements of our country after 80 years, especially in culture and arts.
To achieve the above goals, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, agencies, localities and the Steering Committee, based on their functions, tasks, powers and responsibilities, to be highly determined, make great efforts and take drastic actions to continue to synchronously and effectively implement tasks and solutions.
In particular, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, agencies, localities and Vingroup Corporation to urgently speed up the progress, from now until July 2025 to basically complete the construction; organize the inauguration of the National Exhibition Fair Center on August 19, 2025; organize the exhibition of socio-economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day from August 28, 2025 to September 6, 2025 (inauguration and display to open the exhibition on August 28, 2025).
Vingroup Corporation speeds up the completion of the main items of the National Exhibition Fair Center and simultaneously completes the auxiliary works, landscape, services, and accompanying utilities (food, drink, entertainment, auxiliary services, etc.) to serve the people and visitors to the exhibition (completed before June 30, 2025 for display in July and inauguration in August).
The Prime Minister requested the Hanoi People's Committee, based on its functions, tasks, and authority, to invest and allocate a portion of the budget to synchronously complete the construction infrastructure of traffic, electricity, water, fire prevention and fighting, telecommunications, and other infrastructure connecting to the area outside the National Exhibition Center, ensuring a bright, green, clean, and beautiful environmental landscape to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall preside over and coordinate with Vietnam Television to plan to organize cultural and artistic activities and entertainment programs with the participation of talented artists, attracting a large number of people to attend, considering these as supporting activities, starting before organizing the Exhibition; urgently develop a Project on the entertainment industry, and report to the Prime Minister.
The National Exhibition Fair Center with a scale of 90 hectares, is in the top 10 in the world in terms of total area as well as exhibition area, located right at the Northeast gateway of Hanoi.
Regarding the specific mechanisms for implementation, the Prime Minister agreed in principle but did not allow corruption, waste, and specific issues to be assigned to Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh for consideration and decision in accordance with the law, ensuring time and timeliness for organizing the Exhibition. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches, agencies, localities and Vingroup Corporation to urgently complete the Exhibition Organization Project, develop a specific schedule, assign implementation tasks in accordance with the spirit of "6 clear: clear people, clear work, clear responsibility, clear authority, clear time, clear results"; if necessary, it is possible to hire foreign consultants with capacity, qualifications, and experience in organizing major events and prepare a domestic human resource team to participate in coordination to learn, receive, transfer technology, knowledge, experience, etc. from the foreign consulting team. Ministries, branches, agencies and localities, according to their functions, tasks and powers, proactively perform tasks within their authority and promptly report to competent authorities on issues arising beyond their authority.
Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh presided over and directly directed the preparation work for the Exhibition according to his authority. Ministries, branches, agencies, localities and Vingroup Corporation urgently implemented the direction of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh in the spirit of "only discussing, not backtracking", "promised must be done, committed must be implemented, implemented must have results, specific products".
The exhibition of socio-economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 / September 2, 2025) at the National Exhibition and Fair Center has the participation of all ministries, branches, localities nationwide and enterprises representing the state-owned and private enterprises.
According to the proposed plans, the exhibition floor is expected to be up to 260,000 m2 (130,000 m2 indoors and 130,000 m2 outdoors). In addition to the exhibits, the exhibition will also incorporate 3D mapping projections, virtual reality experiences, multimedia audiovisual works, digital technology applications, AI, etc.
