Ahead of the second leg of the 2024/25 ASEAN Club Championship Final, Buriram United (nicknamed “Thunder Castle”) will host the representative from Vietnam – Hanoi Police Club at Buriram Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on May 21. In the first leg at Hang Day Stadium, the two teams drew 2-2.
On the afternoon of May 20, a pre-match press conference was held at Buriram Stadium. Representing Buriram United, head coach Osmar Loss Vieira and veteran defender Theerathon Bunmathan attended the press conference.
Speaking at the press conference, coach Osmar Loss Vieira shared: “We have learned a lot from each match. In the first leg against Cong An Ha Noi, we learned many lessons in the first half and adjusted to play better in the second half. Playing at home, in front of the home crowd, will be a great source of motivation for the whole team to try their best.”
He added: “We have carefully analyzed the first leg and realized that Cong An Ha Noi is a team with the ability to press very fiercely, quickly narrowing the space. However, if they continue to use that tactic, we will know where the weaknesses are to exploit.”

Player Theerathon Bunmathan also expressed his confidence ahead of the match: “We are now 100% ready. Every player has prepared thoroughly for this important match. We believe we will win and lift the trophy.”
When asked about the opponent’s pressing tactics and how to deal with them, Theerathon – a former J.League champion – affirmed: “Playing at home, Cong An Ha Noi were very aggressive to create an advantage. But Buriram United also had a positive result. In the second half, we adjusted our playing style and executed the plan correctly – that worked well.
In the second leg, we want to complete the goal at home. I believe the fans will fill the stands and put pressure on the opponent team. We are confident that we will win to dedicate it to them.”
