Hanoi is among the top localities with the highest number of tourists during the 2024 New Year holiday.
According to records, the total number of visitors during the 2024 New Year holiday in some key tourist areas increased. Of which, the 3 localities leading the number of visitors are Ho Chi Minh City, estimated to welcome and serve 1.65 million visitors; the average room occupancy rate is estimated at about 87%, total revenue from tourists is estimated at 6,400 billion VND. Khanh Hoa is estimated to welcome and serve 465,900 visitors, the average room occupancy rate is estimated at about 73%; total revenue from tourists is estimated at 498 billion VND. The capital Hanoi is estimated to welcome and serve 402,000 visitors, an increase of 65% over the same period in 2023.
The average room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation facilities reached nearly 50%; some tourist centers across the country recorded higher occupancy rates, around 70%. There were no price increases, price gouging or rip-offs of tourists.
On this occasion, international visitors mainly come from the markets of Korea, China, Japan, the US, Australia, Europe, Thailand, and India.
Of which, Hanoi is estimated to welcome 72,000 international visitors, an increase of 2.1 times compared to the same period in 2023; Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to welcome 46,500 arrivals, an increase of 86.1%; Lao Cai is estimated to welcome 20,500 arrivals; Khanh Hoa is estimated to welcome 169 international flights with about 31,000 passengers...
