The program is directed by the Hanoi City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, organized and implemented by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports . This is an important event of Hanoi City, part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day September 2, welcoming major holidays and important historical events of 2025.

In addition to being free for the audience to enjoy, the program is also broadcast live on VTV1 (Vietnam Television) and rebroadcast on H1 (Hanoi Radio and Television).
“Hanoi – From the historic autumn of 1945” is an art program imbued with political and epic values, recreating one of the most important milestones in the nation’s history through a subtle combination of scholarly art, folk art, international elements and modern technology. The program applies many creative techniques, combining interaction with contemporary art genres and styles to depict the depth of history and cultural beauty of the Capital.
The program is directed by People's Artist Tan Minh, musician Duong Cam is the music director, conductor Dong Quang Vinh conducts the orchestra, and Master Tuyet Minh is the scriptwriter and general director.
With 3 chapters and 6 acts, the program takes the audience through 80 years of Hanoi's history since the success of the August Revolution. The history is recreated both majestically and romantically, depicting the image of Hanoi people in the midst of bombs and bullets, still steadfast and determined to regain independence and freedom for the nation and for the thousand-year-old land of Thang Long.

The audience will be led from the historic autumn of 1945, when the Ba Dinh sunshine was brilliant and the Declaration of Independence echoed, to the heroic epic of the Ho Chi Minh era with the fierce years of the "Dien Bien Phu in the air" battle, then immerse themselves in "Spring Trains" filled with the spirit of gallantry and the aspiration to build a civilized and prosperous Capital in the new era.
The music of the program opened with “The Internationale” (Pierre De Geyter) and a series of mashups of songs associated with the spirit of the General Uprising such as “Guerrilla Song” (Do Nhuan), “The Call of Youth” (Luu Huu Phuoc), “Destroy Fascism” (Nguyen Dinh Thi), “Together We Go Red Soldiers” (Dinh Nhu), followed by “August Nineteen” (Xuan Oanh) and climaxed with the heroic and emotional chorus of “Marching Song” (Van Cao).
The program is attended by nearly 1,000 artists and actors from many theaters and art forces of the city and central art units in Hanoi. Among them are beloved artists such as People's Artist Hoang Anh Tu, People's Artist Tan Minh, artist Xuan Hinh, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Tran Lin, singers Hoang Hai, Van Mai Huong, Lam Bao Ngoc, Dong Hung, Khanh Linh, Trong Hung, Oplus group... along with many dancers, choreographers, lighting, sound and stage art experts.
Besides the music and performances, the special highlight of the program is 3 3D mapping projections combined with artistic fireworks, creating a journey of light through time, from heroic milestones, through the brilliant cultural space of Thang Long - Hanoi, to the image of a technological heart looking towards the future of Vietnam.
With the combination of music, lighting, stage art and modern technology, “Hanoi – From the historic autumn of 1945” not only brings a unique artistic experience, but also arouses pride, love for the homeland and deep gratitude to previous generations in the hearts of today's young generation.
