Hanoi jubilantly opens new school year

On the morning of September 5, Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and leaders of Hanoi attended the opening ceremony at Phan Huy Chu High School and congratulated the capital's Education and Training sector on the occasion of the new school year 2025-2026.

Hanoi is the locality with the largest educational scale in the country with more than 2,900 kindergartens and primary schools with nearly 2.3 million students and nearly 128,000 teachers.

Implementing the theme of the school year "Discipline - Creativity - Breakthrough - Development", the Capital's Education sector continues to aim at the goal of forming and comprehensively developing people in terms of knowledge, ethics, skills, courage and aspirations, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development of the country in the new era of development - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

The 2025-2026 school year is also the first year that Hanoi and the whole country implement a tuition-free policy for preschool and general education.

For Hanoi alone, this is also the first school year that the city has implemented a policy of supporting boarding meals for primary school students with a total support budget of more than 3,000 billion VND, for about 768,000 students at public and private schools (except schools with foreign investment).

On this occasion, Hanoi city leaders presented flowers to congratulate teachers and students of Phan Huy Chu High School and the Capital's Education and Training sector on the occasion of the start of the new school year 2025-2026.

Phan Huy Chu High School was established in 1997, the first semi-public high school under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, invested by the city in building initial facilities and implementing a mechanism of people's contributions to support educational activities according to the Party and State's view of socializing education.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the school was re-recognized as a National Standard Level 2 high school. The school was also recognized as having achieved Level 3 educational accreditation; ranked 31st in the national list of happy schools.
