Focus on upgrading traffic
La Gi town has been investing and upgrading infrastructure to attract investment in the strengths of coastal areas, including transport infrastructure as a lever to promote economic and social development in recent years. According to the Department of Economics, Infrastructure & Urban Areas, in the period of 2021 - 2024 alone, 57 traffic projects have been approved and invested by the province and town; the mobilized investment capital is nearly 456 billion VND. This year, 9 traffic projects are in the process of implementation, with an investment capital of nearly 58 billion VND. To synchronize with the routes, 39 technical infrastructure projects for construction, upgrading of sidewalks, lighting, and drainage ditches have been approved and invested in the years 2021 - 2024. Along with that, 4 other projects with a mobilized investment capital of 39.5 billion VND this year. Meanwhile, the town has completed 85 routes under the Rural Transport Project in the past 5 years under the model of “State and People Working Together”, with a total investment capital of nearly 18 billion VND. In 2025 alone, there are 7 rural transport projects with an investment capital of nearly 9.4 billion VND under construction.

Thanks to that, many central roads of the town have been upgraded, expanded synchronously with lighting and drainage systems, along with rows of trees on both sides of the road, making them cool and clean, such as Nguyen Hue, Ngo Quyen, Nguyen Truong To, Dinh Bo Linh, Hung Vuong, Vo Thi Sau... Or Ngo Duc Ton Street in Tan Tien Commune, Tan Binh - Tan Hai tourist road, Nguyen Cong Tru Street located on DT. 719. Meanwhile, DT. 719 through the town from Tan Hai Commune to Tan Thien Ward, invested from the Central and Provincial budget, was expanded many years ago, contributing to tourism development. The town has also built 3 parks in the administrative center area to serve people and tourists for entertainment and relaxation. Up to now, there are 40 tourism projects approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment in La Gi town, with a total investment capital of about 3,713 billion VND.
Recently, the investment project to build the DT.719 bypass road and the bridge over Dinh River in La Gi town was started, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Thuan province. This traffic route with a total investment of more than 212 billion VND, expected to be completed in 2028, will create momentum for the development of Tan Binh industrial clusters, expand La Gi urban space; promote local socio-economic development, strengthen security and national defense.

Attached to foreign traffic
To promote the development of potential advantages, especially exploiting coastal tourism and trading activities, the main roads of the town need to be upgraded and expanded to national highways and inter-provincial roads. With the town's location in the south of the province, near the key economic region of the Southeast, the investment in upgrading and expanding National Highway (QL) 55 through Ham Tan district, La Gi town (from km 52+ 640 to km 97+ 692) connecting to Highway 1A, connecting to the Phan River intersection of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway. Thereby, this synchronous traffic route will create momentum for the La Gi area to develop and make a breakthrough in the coming years. At the same time, the Nguyen Minh Chau route (extended) through Ham Tan district, Ham Thuan Nam district needs to be supplemented with public investment capital by the province to expand the town's traffic network with neighboring areas.
Previously, the town surveyed and prepared an investment dossier for a coastal road 18 km long; implementing phase 1 from Binh Tan Community Beach to Doc Trau, Tan Tien commune, 5,400 m long, with a total investment of about 500 billion VND. When this road is completed, it will remove the long-standing "bottleneck" for many coastal tourism projects that do not have convenient access to the project, creating conditions for investors to mobilize capital, complete tourism facilities to put into operation, and exploit local strengths. The road also has important implications for security, defense, rescue, and climate change prevention of the town and neighboring areas.
Notably, this synchronous and interconnected regional transport infrastructure will connect with 3 new wards and communes after the removal of La Gi town administrative unit, contributing to the economic and social development of the southern areas of the province, which have potential and strengths in coastal tourism, industry, services, and seafood exploitation.
