Hai Duong promotes investment and tourism development in the open markets of Austria and Italy

With many potentials and strengths, Hai Duong hopes that Austrian and Italian investors will continue to learn more about the investment environment in the area, thereby finding investment opportunities in the province.

Towards long-term business relationships in Austria

Within the framework of the investment promotion trip to Europe, from July 25-26, the delegation of Hai Duong province led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria and the Economic Chamber of Vienna State (Austria) to promote investment and cooperation in tourism development.

Working with Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Nguyen Trung Kien, officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria and the Vienna State Economic Chamber, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung highlighted the potential and strengths of Hai Duong.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province said that according to the Hai Duong Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, the whole province plans to develop 32 industrial parks with a total area of about 5,661 hectares, 10 golf course projects and 10 tourism projects.

Up to now, Hai Duong has established 17 industrial parks with a total area of over 2,700 hectares, of which 12 industrial parks have invested in infrastructure construction and business exploitation; 5 industrial parks are implementing site clearance and infrastructure construction. 61 industrial clusters with a total area of over 3,200 hectares are ready to meet the diverse needs of investors when exploring investment opportunities in the province.

Ambassador Nguyen Trung Kien and the Vienna State Economic Chamber reviewed the main features of Vietnam-Austria economic, trade and investment relations. Accordingly, Vietnam-Austria two-way trade ranks 7th in the EU, while Vietnam is Austria's leading trade partner in the ASEAN bloc.

The Austrian Chamber of Commerce has opened a representative office in Vietnam since 2019. Austrian businesses highly appreciate it and want to cooperate extensively with Vietnamese businesses.

Ambassador Nguyen Trung Kien affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria is always ready to connect and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises in general, Hai Duong enterprises in particular, and Austrian enterprises to learn about each other's partners and markets, aiming for long-term business relationships.

Strengthening cultural and tourism cooperation in Italy

Continuing the program in another European country, on July 29, the delegation of Hai Duong province worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy and the Legacoop National Cooperative Union to call for investment cooperation and tourism development.

At the working sessions, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung gave an overview of the socio-economic development situation, environment and investment attraction policies of Hai Duong province.

In recent years, Hai Duong province's economy has been growing steadily, with an average economic growth rate of 8.89% in the 2021-2024 period (higher than the national average). In the first 6 months of 2024, the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 10% (ranked 7th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide). Hai Duong is one of the leading provinces in the country in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).

Particularly emphasizing the province's tourism potential and strengths, Mr. Trieu The Hung said that currently in Hai Duong there are 4 special national relics including: Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site (Chi Linh), An Phu - Kinh Chu - Nham Duong complex (Kinh Mon); Mao Dien Temple of Literature and historical and architectural relics of Xua Temple - Giam Pagoda - Bia Temple (all in Cam Giang district).

Hai Duong also has 18 provincial-level tourist areas, tourist attractions with 3,199 historical and cultural relics, hundreds of traditional craft villages preserving many cultural values, which can become tourist attractions such as: Chu Dau pottery in Thai Tan commune (Nam Sach); Chau Khe gold and silver in Thuc Khang commune (Binh Giang); Dong Giao wood carving in Luong Dien commune (Cam Giang); Xuan Neo embroidery in Hung Dao town (Tu Ky)...

With these potentials and strengths, Hai Duong wishes to exchange information and potential strengths of Hai Duong culture and tourism with people, organizations and businesses in Italy. The two sides will coordinate to organize exhibitions of fine arts paintings, photography, handicrafts, etc.

Hai Duong also hopes to create favorable conditions for tourism organizations and businesses of Hai Duong province and Italy to exchange, cooperate, survey, build and develop tourism products of Hai Duong province...

The Italian side expressed interest in Hai Duong's policies and priority areas for attracting investment and hoped that in the coming time, Italian organizations and businesses could cooperate and contribute to the sustainable development of the locality in areas where both sides have strengths.

At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Duong Hai Hung and representatives of the Legacoop National Cooperative Alliance affirmed that over the past time, economic, trade, industrial and energy cooperation between Vietnam and Italy has been promoted.

Ambassador Duong Hai Hung said that Italian enterprises have strengths in investing in the textile and footwear supporting industries of Vietnam in general and Hai Duong in particular. This is an area where Italy has strengths in technology and experience to take advantage of the incentives brought by EVFTA. The Ambassador also informed that Vietnam is expected to open a direct flight to Italy in the near future.

The Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee said that this is an advantage for Hai Duong and other provinces and cities of Vietnam to export agricultural products to Europe, especially high-quality products.
